(1) The interview went well and they liked my presentation. (2) I sent a followup letter to both people at the interview, and they were well received. (3) I called today and they hinted that it was "looking good for me" but they couldn't promise for sure and would decide on Wednesday next week. Can anyone suggest what I could do for a final followup that could help get me over the goal line?

We are buying a house and have a 30 day escrow, but are not exactly sure of the move out date. This is a small complex and we are on good terms with the landlord, so I can't see there being any problems, but I want to cover myself in writing also if we have to stay an extra week or so.

I Bought a new Mobile home Three years ago which i'm still paying on. I'm currently looking at this house that just came on the market. Buying both of them is out of the question.

So i have a couple of questions.

1.) If i buy this house and just stop paying on the mobil home what is the the worst that could happen.

2.) If i where to sell the mobil home i'm not sure i could get what i still owe on it, since they depreciate. so what would i have to do with the diference i would still owe? would i have to pay in full, keep current payment plan till difference is paid, or something all together different.

Since many people make financial resolutions for the New Year, I was just wondering...

How many of you actually have a budget? How do you budget - do you use software, spreadsheets, pen and paper?

Do you use your budget just to track spending, or do you actually compare your spending to your budget and make decisions based on those numbers?

I religiously track my spending, and I have a cash flow plan, but I've never considered myself a strict budgeter.

How about you guys?

I'm renting right now and looking to purchase a condo, besides being more legitimate in negotions, could I negotiate the price on my own and have a lawyer look over the association agreement and a mortgage company handle the closing? I know the seller pays for the buyer's realitor's fees- but there has to be some savings for me by skipping a realitor. Thanks.

I keep hearing how great the economy is.
If you don't own blocks of stock -
If you are trying to send kids to college, or go yourself-
If you get sick-
If you are part of a massive layoff-
If your pension went south with Enron-
If your IRA of a lifetime ends up worth $20,000 -
If you are in the 99.5% who don't get big tax breaks-
If you are on a fixed income, buying medicine-
Is the US economy working for you?
