Hi every one, I need your help, first of all I am not very well in math.
My boss told me that I would be getting a 6% raise on my salary. How much exactly is that. I make right now $10 an hour. $18,000 a year. Please tell me exactly how much I am going to be making for now on.

Thank you so much :-)

I appriciate the answer.

I bought a house on a corner 2 years ago, had a title search ( and title insurance ) the only issued easement was from a phone company and I understand that on a corner I have to give right of way footage from each road, now my question/problem is this, a local gas pipeline company has given me 7 days notice that they will be removing several trees and a building from my property because they are obstructing the arial view of the pipe, there is no recorded easement at the register of deeds, and the pipeline company says they have the easement in hand, ( from the early 1940s ) so is there anything I can do? is the title company liable? isn't an easement abandoned after 60+ years? I am loosing several mature very large trees and an out building with a concrete floor,( that was built in 1965) w-power and water of its own. and I am also probably losing a lot of equity in my home. if they come in and clear cut my property. Had I known about this I wouldnt have bought the house.

I work in california and was wondering if there is a california or federal law on when a company should provide insurance benifits for a full time worker? My friend has been with the company over a year and still has no benifits...i know most companies give it to you after 60 or 90 days probation even 6 months but is there a law about how long they should take ?

100 years ago, there were virtually NO taxes. No gas tax, no death tax, no _fill in the blank_ tax, AND we had no debt. Why did we initiate all these taxes and suddenly we have all this debt? Perhaps we should stop taxing everything and stop spending so much money on government programs.

My credit is otherwise good (715). I would like to know two things. First, how bad (roughly) does this affect me? Second, how should I go about repairing the damage, and how long will this haunt me if I pay all my bills (including the mortgage) on time?

They don't seem to want to be called a MLM company, but they want to recruit me so that others can make money from the business I bring and and I can also do the same. This just seems like a cleverly disguised MLM or Network Marketing company.

Is it? And if so, why don't they just say so?

How do their products compare to other financial services?

I signed up with Global Travel to be an agent. They gave me a 14 day free trial and I tried to cancel once I found out how pricey they were (they were at least hundreds of dollars more on every trip than anyone else). When I called they told me my free trial started when I requested info, not when they acepted my appllication and gave me acess to their web site. They told me they love when people dispute and encourage me to disupute it with my back because they always win. And they will continue to charge me.
What should I do?

I'm a 21 woman and my dad and I live together. We are both definately able to live seperately, but splitting the bills is just A LOT easier on us finacially. I'm ready to make the move & he is supportive of that. We are in no way "attatched" and we hardly even see each other at home. He is alway out at a significant others place and I'm at my BF's place a lot. I'll be in the same city, just in my own apt somewhere else. I will not have a roommate, nor do I want one. I know this will happen in the next 6 months or so. I need all the advice possible to help make this a smooth transition. What should I beware of, what do I need to know, what difficulties might I face? Can you give ANY advice at all?

You may remember me posting a questions last week, but I had an interview last Monday and I was to find out the results by Friday. My phone acts up and turned itself on vibrate so I missed her call on Friday (I had a missed call from her). I called back but she'd left for the day so I left a voice mail and I have yet to hear back from her today...Monday. Should I wait or call? I'm anxious! They don't usually call if they don't want you but now I'm worried that she accidentally called me. She also said she doesn't like leaving people VMs because she likes to talk to an actual person. Should I be concerned? Should I call her back this afternoon or just wait it out? If I take this job, my last day for my current job will be Friday so I need to know ASAP!

I have been in my job as a retail assistant for river island for just over a year, there seems no chance of working up the system in my job to be a Visual Merchadiser (person who deals with putting together the display for the windows..etc). The person who comes in and does this has said she doesnt really know how she got her job, she was offered it by a friend who left the role. She did say I could help her put out the displays when shes there but my managers keep grabbing me for the shop floor as I have "great customer service skills"
I have a degree in textile design but it seems to make no difference, I have listed myself on several websites for jobs in retail and applied but am told I need experience.
I cannot afford to go back and study further as I already owe too much money after my B.A and my retail job is £5.10 an hour I have asked my store managers and they dont know, I have sent emails to job ads asking how I gain the experience they are looking for and they dont know!!

I recently received a notice that I have to attend a phone hearing on the 27th for possible ineligbility for unemployment benefits, though my reasoning for discharge was poor work performance. However, after being let go, I was able to qualify for the Cobra insurance option(the HR of my last job even assisted with the paperwork), and it's common knowledge that you have to be let go from employment for anything other than gross misconduct to receive that type of health coverage, so shouldn't that automatically prove that I am eligible for unemployment due to them having the actual reason on file?

THis question was inspired by another poster's question about credit, and I guess its really aimed at people working in the lending institutions or those who know a little bit about it.

I really want to know why firms will not tell you why you have been refused credit for something. i have often been told that my credit score is too low for certain storecards but the providers will never tell me why. Instead they refer me to Experian or whoever, but even when I refer to the credit report, I dont really know exactly why it is low. I have no CCJs, have never been bankrupt, I am on the electoral roll. I have a credit card which I alsways pay off in full, save for a couple of occassions when I accidentally paid late.

I DO understand that previous residents at my address may affect my score, blah blah, but what I really want to know is why cant stores/lenders give SPECIFIC reasons for their refusal rather than me having to guess?
