I want to buy some mutual funds now but I remember hearing something about taxes mutual funds pay. So I will get hit with that bill right? Is there a better or worse time of year to buy mutual funds?

My company said they need to be "reinstated" then I can claim benefits. Is this bogus? Am I REALLY out of the $6400 in UI benefits that I am overdue?
Is there anyway I can collect - if anyone knows of any way, it would really be appreciated.

Can a suit be filed or would I end up spending my UI benefits in paying the lawyer's fees?

Our house is evacuated due to a dangerous situation. Our mtg. co. sold the property note upon learning of this situation instead of working with us to lower our mthly payments. The new co. is unwilling to help us with this situation. Can anything be done to insure our rights since we have not signed anything with the new co? Or can mtg. companies sell notes at any time without our approval?

I used to have a union at my other job, needless to say, I didnt' need them becuase they were doing nothing while taking my money. they never did much to make me happy at my prior job and yet had the nerve to increase the workers dues. I had no choice, but I wasnt' happy at my job, I actually liked it. it seemed to me that everybody that was pro-union over there was lazy or had no reason to be there. they all wanted to know how much each person made, and godforbid that I get a pay increase while their shiftless asses were stuck at the same as everybody else.

I don't know though, I could be wrong, but my experience with a union has taught me that Unions aren't worth taking a job for. I'd rather get my degree and get me a career. I'd rather have my pay increase on my own merits, not on some Union negotiations. what's your take. I just don't think Unions work anymore. what's your take

I am going through a divorce and need some money ASAP, so I want to sell my wedding ring set. It's a 1 carat princess cut solitaire with a thick white gold band/setting, and the wedding band is a total 1 carat (I believe, maybe 3/4) with 8 princess cut diamonds and white gold. They are only about 1 year old. I'm not sure how much they sold for, but I think it was close to $4K. I've never done the whole pawning/selling thing so I have no idea how much I would get for it or what the process is. Unfortunately, I don't have the original paperwork on the rings either. How would I go about getting the right amount of money for these and how much would I get?? I just need someone to explain the whole process to me too. Thanks!

i have a 14 month old and haven't worked since before i got pregnant. i've looked on the internet but need help. are there any legit companies out there that don't require me to send Them money? if so, where are they and how do i do it? does this sound like a good idea? and also how bad/necessary is it that we get help like food stamps, etc? rent/car insurance/food is so high here. i'm newly married with a toddler and since moving here haven't made one friend in 6 months..what should i do-we cant even afford x-mas gifts for each other, only our toddler? i don't want to be in the poverty category! help!

I used to be really really hard working .. and when I left my workplaces I had shining references. .. until about 1 year ago.

I had a temp job working for government for a year ... then I went skinny and came obsessed with my weight which let to drepression. Basically I was of work for four months as I was too emotionally and mentally distressed to work. I left there in Feb as my contract ended and went back to work for two months before leaving. After this I got another job working in a factory, I worked in the offices there for six weeks and then my reference from the government came through to them. They sat me down in a room and said my reference was good apart from the fact that I had a few months of work, and they wanted to know why. So I told them and a week later, I was invited to the bosses office and he asked me to leave! He said it was due to lack of business. He wanted me to go there and then! I told him to give me a weeks notice as I have comittments, morgage etc.
