This is going to be my 1st time owning a home, right now i'm living in an 900 sf apartment, my new home will be in Riverside,or San Bernadino CA and there will be only me and my husband and maybe kids in future. I would like to have a rough idea on how much the monthly expenses will be to own a 3300 sf house (with energy saving window) vs what i'm paying now living in apartment. Appreciated those who live in similar size home can give me a rough numbers you pay in utilities like gas, electricity, water, Home hazard insurance, etc.

Thank you and appreciate your respones

My husband was laid off a few months back. His employer told him that he would be rehired around the first of the year of 2007, and when he applied for unemployment compensation he had to report this so that he didn't have to fill out anything on prospective employers on his vouchers. He was told by Workforce Development that this wasn't necessary when he was given a rehire date.

Now, his previous employer is trying to renege, saying that they may not rehire him. If my husband had known this to begin with, then he would have been looking into finding another job during this time, rather than waiting around for the date he was told he would be rehired.

So my question is: does his employer have to carry out this agreement of rehire, or is my husband essentially SOL? We live in Indiana, if that helps any, and Indiana is considered an "at-will" employment state. Is there really anything that he can do? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I need details on what the rules and restrictions are for carrying cash money over borders / through customs. Both IRS and US Customs information would be preferred. If the destination country is relevant, it would be the United Kingdom. How much money can you carry through customs without any reporting, declarations, etc... If the amount is more than that, what are the procedures for reporting and declarations?

I have been in this field for a little over 8 years now. I have been having a little bit of bleeding with this pregnancy, I am 10 weeks along. My doctor examined me and said my cervix looks closed and feels firm, but he has scheduled an ultrasound for me to check the length of the cervix and also make sure baby is doing fine. My question pertains more to work, I have to do alot of lifting and transferring of clients, as they have cerebral palsy. One is much easier to help then the other and I have the go ahead to work with him as much as needed, but I do not want to make other employees feel as though I am shirking duty, however I also do not feel like informing every employee of what exactly is going on in my uterus. Any suggestions on how to handle that, or have you been in the same sort of situation? What did you do to sort of make up for the harder work that you were unable to do?

My boss knows about the situation fully.

My question is how should I live my life NOW. Should I still bother about saving for my future, try to pay off my 300 thousand dollar mortgage, or just enjoy the money I have from my paycheck now, safe in the knowledge that I will be taken care of in the future? I am not complaining abut the money I am going to be getting, but it has caused a LOT of mental confusion for me.
