Job titles are sort of, well, meaningless. There are no "rules" or standardized titles. I used to work at a hi-tech company and if you completed advanced training in statistical process controls, your title would be "Black Belt." Strange but true. You'd have people with advanced degrees in electrical engineering doing hi-level design work, maybe managing a department of 10-12 professionals, and their business card identified them as.... Black Belt. Weird.

The point being, don't worry about titles. Worry about function. What would you like to do once you earn your degree? What interests you? Here's a fun way to think about it: When you go to a holiday party and someone says, "So, you work in health care. What do you do?", what would you like to be able to tell them? Do you want to say, "I negotiate leasing contracts for the radiology equipment at City Hospital"? Or, maybe you want to say, "I analyze group insurance plan designs for large employers." Or, "I work with low income, marginalized people with medical problems to help them understand what benefits are available to them."

There are a million opportunities. You've picked a great field, and it's crying out for people with good hearts coupled with business smarts. The health care MBA can be a powerful tool to help you get where you want to be. Figure out where that is, and go for it. Best of luck to you!!!
