I graduated from college this past June and have been sending my resume and going on interviews non stop since August. I go on probably 3 a week and I still have not found a job!!!! I am SO discouraged. Every job says I am either non qualified enough (no real work experience) or too qualified. I am starting to think my BA is worthless. Has anyone experienced this? How did you deal with it?

I have been playing the simulator stock "game" with $1000.00, which "charges" $19.99 a trade. It seems to me that if I had a real account, and any time I had a profit of say even $10-15, and could trade for the $4.95 price Tradeking advertises, I would amass little daily profits with which I could play/buy more. Is there some rule I don't know about that one has to keep a stock for a certain period of time? Is what I'm suggesting "daytrading"? Thanks for any info!

I have had a couple of jobs where adults sit around coloring. One job was a reservationist for Ramada Inns. The next job was at Whirlpool. The manager said "if you want to advance in this company I reccomend that you don't color, but coloring is not prohibeted." This I think is the ultimate in juvenile behaviour run amok. If you answer "its cool, I do it," then you are automaticly not cool.

The definition of a capital asset in the Code is extremely unhelpful. Can anyone give me a layman's definition of a capital asset? What is a non-capital asset? Can you give me some examples of a non-capital asset?

My boyfriend keeps telling me I need to get another job because I only make a little over mininum wage but I love my job. Its the first I've had where I dont wake up every am not wanting to go work. It just me and my boss in the office and she has become a very close friend. She buys lunch everyday and gives me extra money for gas when I run errands and because she doesnt offer insurance, she pays for my dental visits. I really dont want to get another job. Plus Im 5 wks pregnant. He says I should get another job and then after Im there for a while tell them Im pregnant but even then I might not even go back to work once the baby is born because we'd be paying more for our three kids to go to daycare than I would bring home. He makes good money and we have a settlement and my tax returns coming to go into savings. What would you do if you were in my situation?

I am going to be graduating from College in May, and was wondering when would be a good time to start my job search and start sending resumes to companies. How far in advance do most companies hire employees? I don't want to waste the time of recruiters by sending out my resumes in December if they don't typically start thinking about June hires until April.

I've recently opened a coffee shop in a great location but it's the wrong time of year. I've done leaflet dropping to houses and local businesses, I've advertised in the paper, had a free editorial done in the local rag, but it doesn't seem to be working! Don't get me wrong, we do get customers but if we don't start getting more, we won't last 6months! Money is really tight so i can't really afford to do any more big adverts. Where can I advertise for free? (I don't have a website!) Any other suggestions please?!

Obviously, we do not have legal US marital status and we file as individuals. We are both on the house, and I am wondering if I when I do taxes if I claim half of the taxes and interest on the 1040, or if only one of us claims the entire amount. Is there a tax book that goes into details about this stuff, the 1040 directions do not mention this type of thing. Thanks!

My ex and I had a joint credit card in which we were both liable. She racked up a huge bill and then filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy. I understand that I can still be held liable. Now here is the question:

I understand I can not sue her for the money because she already filed bankruptcy. Can I sue her for screwing up my credit or for any other reason? After talking to her, she pretty much said "screw you, you're on your own." The creditors are being as nice as possible but they still want their money.

So my company is putting together a newsletter, and we need a title. The name of our company is Chinook Capital (as in the salmon) and I need something unique, catchy...something to make me look good as if I thought of it on my own. I know you all can help me...ready, set, think!! The best I have come up with is the Fresh Water Advisor, because we will have different professionals submitting different articles every quarter, and need something professional, and informational as well. Help!

I am currently on workmans compensation in Lousiana. I do not have an attorney, because I can't afford for the 20% that the lawyers take every week. I only get $86.63 a week. I am told that is because I made little over minimum wage. If I would have made $450.00 A week the financial settlement would be grander. I fell on a wet floor and hurt my back. I need an operation to repair the five bulging disc in my back as a result of the fall. And workmans compensation has offered me a settlement that would not even pay for the operation. I need to know what are my rights pertaining to this. I think that is totally discrimanative and prejudical. If I were making more money I would be worthy of an operation or a good settlement to help me get my life back in order. I'm very depressed because of this and the pain is chronic and constant. PLEASE! help me to find out if this is true or just something that the insurance is telling me to get me to settle for less than what my injury is worth.
