I wrote a check to help pay for something my family bought for my grandfather. I've been told by my cousin that the owner of the business told her the check bounced and stated he needed to be paid. This was about 5 years ago. I never received anything from this person stating my check bounced. I've never received anything from a collection agency either. Since it was from so long ago, I no longer have that bank account (small bank in a specific town). I have no way of checking to see if I did bounce the check. It just seems like he would have sent me something. I also don't like that he has discussed this matter with someone other than me. My main question is, legally, is he allowed to do that? It seems to me with all the privacy acts, there would be something covering an issue similar to this. I wouldn't expect for a credit card company to call me and discuss my father's account with me.

I sold a book on the internet. I sent out the book using USPS Media Mail to the buyer. After a few days the Shippping Label neatly cut out from the packing was returned to me by USPS Official Mail, nothing else with it. Today the buyer contacted me asking for the book. What does it mean, is the book lost or are they holding it because of incorrect postage? I thought its just a way of Delivery Confirmation.

I want to create a program, which daily open my mailbox and look for a mail until it arrives. And as soon as it arrives, it has to take data from the mail and open a excel sheet in my harddisk and input those datas and run a macro in my excel to get some calculated values. Then those value need to be mailed to another person. Can anyone suggest me which programming language i should use to achieve this.

I would ge great if I get the final calculated value in a SMS to my mobile.

I have a new publication that I want to distribute through regional contractors. The distributor would be responsible for about a 30 mile radius. Distributions sites for the free pub include health clubs, running and bike shops, and rec centers. The pub comes out every 2 months, and I'd like the distributor to check in every 2-3 weeks to maintain inventory at the sites. I don't know what reasonable compensation would be for a model like this. The distributor would need their own vehicle, so I'd need to cover time and gas. Any experience with a model like this?

Their rights were respected in Lebanon, with Canada rescuing them. What duties and obligations do they have to their country? They do not have to pay taxes. Do they pay into our Old Aid Pension? Can they collect it? Do they pay medical? Can they receive medical attention in Canada? I would like to know more about this.

I've been saving money to invest at some point in time, but I'm not sure which route I should take. I'm interested in real estate and have family that is in the business, but its something very new to me and I am not a big risk taker. So what would you invest the money in? would you just keep saving for something bigger?
