I built a custom content management application for my last company to manage their website and help file. I trained my replacement before I left, but he turned out to be worthless, and left. Now no one at the company knows how the thing works, and then want me to come train them as an independent contractor.

I'm willing to do it, and could use the extra cash, but I'm not sure how much to charge. Any ideas?

I was thinking that I should charge at least $125/hour, plus the travel expenses. That was the rate that my former employer charged their clients for training on our software. And after all, I have no competition, right?

Does this seem high? low? Anyone have any experience with this kind of situation?

Company that says they need someone to accept checks on there behalf and then they mail the check to you and you get 10% commission on it and you wait for the check to clear your bank and then send the money to places that Mark Williams tells you to.

Me & one of my co-workers just got a raise ($5.50). We had to wait 1 month to receive in our checks since our pay schedule is 4 weeks behind. Well we were suppose to get paid yesterday & instead I got paid my old regular amount instead of the new pay. My co-worker said she got hers. I emailed my boss yesterday & she said I was suppose to get it & that she had filled out the forms & turned into HR. She said she would get back with. I haven't heard anything all day today from her...should I give it some more time or email her again in case she has forgot!? Tomorrow is my last day of this week & I won't return until next Tuesday. I want to find out about my missing money.......what should I do??

I installed some ceramic tile using Lacticrete Portland cement thin-set mortar. The following day when I returned, most of the tile did not bond and could be picked up off the floor. Some of the tile I had installed on the wall had fallen off.

If you make buys from wholesale distributors, do they turn in copies of the transactions to the IRS ??? In other words, does the IRS have copies of everything you buy during the year in order to determine what taxes are owed if they are not payed ???Or is the paperwork for the business's records only ??? We got a huge bill yesterday, way more than we had spent on stock altogether, just wondering how they figure it all out...

Bob Brown was recently involved in a minor auto accident. His car was hit from behind, and he, in turn, slammed into the car in front of him. He would like someone to explain his coverage and show him where, in his auto policy, each of his losses might be covered. The explanantion of coverage and the location of coverage should be in general terms for most auto insurance policies, please do not use only your personal auto insurance policy as your guide for your response.

Help him out by doing that for each of the following items.

The cost of a medical checkup for his passenger, Ruth
The front and rear damage to his car
The damage to the car in front of him
The damage to the car behind him
The total amount of liability protection for bodily harm and property damage

My husband and I are about $45,000 in credit card debt and we are drowning financially. We want to avoid bankruptcy, but we can't even make minimum payments anymore. We have considered using a company called Superior Debt Settlement. They have told us that they can settle our debts, set us up with a payment plan and we can be of debt in 3 years. At that time, they pay for 3 cycles of debt restoration so that our credit score will look much better. Is this a good plan or can someone recommend a better plan. Has anyone ever heard of or used this company before?

If I were to move to New York City, I know they have a city income tax, but not how much. But what of Washington, DC, or as opposed to moving to Arlington or one of the surrounding cities? In light of this extra expense, which would be better to move to if I wanted to minimize my income taxes?
