I will start going to voice over school this year so that I get the training to change my career. For those of you who are voice over actors, what is this life? I'm so curious to find out.

I am in the process of making settlements with my credit card companies. They have become delinquent accounts, but now I have come into some money and can pay them off. I have made settlements with some of them to pay off half of the amount owed and they will consider it payed in full. If I do this how does that affect my credit? Would it be better if I paid all of it instead of making a settlement? I was told that if I paid a settlement amount it would be as if I paid it in full. After I do this and all of my debt is paid how can I improve my credit? Or do I just have to wait 6-10 yrs for it to improve? Is there lawyers that can get rid of these accounts on my credit report? Or if I settle everything with these companies will they wipe it off of my credit? I'm quite confused on how all of this works so I am checking before I settle with these companies and pay it off. How do I protect myself?

Less than four years ago my credit score was 760. My wife left and ruined it all for me.
I was secondary on the car that she had repossessed because of her total lack of financial responsiblity. All together I ended up with three derogatory accounts and a present average score of 568. What is the best and quickest way to improve my score. I have always taken pride in paying my bills\ debts in a timely fashion.
Please help and thanks.......

I want to go on a volunteer program that costs about 3000 dollars. The brochure says it's completely tax deductable, but my parents say that for them, they're in a "higher tax bracket" and it probably wouldnt be deductable. What the "h" does that mean and is it true? Can something be deductable for one person and not for another or is this just their way of saying they dont want me going?

My husband wants to be a truck driver. He is looking into Swift (since they will pay for your CDL if you are employed with them for a while). The nearest location for them is about two hours away from where we live will that be a problem? The training is offered in Texas (our state) so he can do that. I know he will be gone for weeks at a time he wishes to do OTR. We have a small child so a team isnt an option for us. I hear people say there is good money if you are willing to be gone long periods of time, does anyone know how much is good money? Any information at all about the industry would be great. Thanks to everyone who answers.

Actually, I've had it started for quite a bit now. I'm 23 years old, and I'm contributing 8% of my pay, and my explorer is contributing 100% of the first 3% and 50% of the next 2%. Someone suggested that I might want to start with agressive investments, so right now they're all stock based, no bonds. But is this the bes thing to do? I understand they said it as an option since i'm young still, but .... any help would be appreciated.

I have applied for a post as a teacher. Some days later I was summoned for a test, which consisted on 'teaching' the school director a small class. During the test he talked to me, he pointed some of my mistakes and I made my best in order to correct them and improve, etc. Anyway, at the end of the test he told me "I have to place you with the beginners, so you won't be running the risk of teaching students who have had better teachers. Otherwise you will be having trouble with your students". I was shocked. As I want the job very much I have not said anything, but I am on the verge of calling him and telling him a few words. I guess that I was applying for a job, and that was it, I have not told him I was perfect, nor that I was what he had been looking for. As a director, should he not be the one to say if I was a good teacher or not? And if I am not, why just not deny me the job at once? I guess he was very unprofessional and rude. On the other hand I NEED the job. What should I do

I joined a company two months back which opened a new office in India..I am one of their first employees and the company is just 3 months old in India. We are a small team and a good one. But the issue is now, I have another offer from another company offering more than 80% over my current salary.

I am not in love with my existing company for not to consider the new offer, but some where in me I am soft in ignoring human values and consider it unethical to dump my existing company.

But the main issue is, that, iam just building my career and it will be a bumper to start with a good big pacakage (the new one) so that I can set a market value for future.

Folks! help me with this rather difficult decision!!!!

I need more answers...

I worked throughout the entire pregnancy and up til now (with a now 10-month-old baby), but my baby is getting too mobile for the management job that I have. I can't keep her safe! I'd like to keep working, but from home. Does anyone have experience with legit and well-paying home jobs? I have a bachelor's too, if that helps.
