What do you do to make sure that you are keeping the money legally? For example, do you file it on your taxes, and if you do, are you required to show proof of where it came from or could it just be filed as an asset? What else might you need to do?

The last activity from my credit report shows 1999, but in 2004 they started listing it as past due. I have not received a bill from them since 1999 (when I thought I paid it off). I called them and was told that they had a different address than my current one where I have been for over 5 years. My current address is on my credit report and can be found when I google my name. I will pay it, but want to know why they never sent my a bill and why did they reopen it after 5 years. I is adverely afting my credit and want to know if it is legal for a company to do this

So many corporations are merging and changing names, that it has to be very expensive.

Just as an example...how many banks keep changing their names when another bank takes them over?

This entails new signs, color arrangements, letterhead, etc.

Is it worth their while just to keep merging and save on paying salaries and real estate?

I used to be a secretary (25 years). I had to quit because I have tremors (shakes). I can still do computer work of just about any kind but I cannot take phone messages. Now I babysit my 1 year old niece half days but it is not enought for me. I would love to do something at home on the computer - any suggestions? or any other kind of work at home?

What would I do? I am already pre-approved through my loan officer. I want to buy it as an investment property before anyone else gets to it but I don't know how to go about getting it since there is no Realtor sign, paperwork or contact info on the home. None of the other neighbors knew the owners or how to contact them. I know there is at least 30-40K in equity in the home and it looks like it is in decent condition just from me peeping in the windows. It is located in Douglasville, Georgia. Any info on how I can go about getting the home would be appreciated...
