Well, that depends. Are you the owner of the building or are you the roofer who installed the shingles?

Ins should pay for the roof to be replaced if it was wind damage. We went through 6 hurricanes and insurance paid for ALL damages from wind, rain and hail.
If they do pay you and If you never fix the roof, they will have the right to refuse to pay any more claims until that is fixed.

I think it is time for you to find better insurance.

If it suffered damage thru "act of God", wouldn't your insurance pay for this? If your insurance companies ask you to repair it, you best do it right away or they could choose to drop you. If they don't drop you, if you would receive damage to the inside of the house because of the roof, the insurance company probably won't cover it. They will probably ask for some sort of proof that the roof has been fixed. Try advertising on Craig's List for an inexpensive "handy man."

You shouldn't have to pay anything. It would be considered a natural cause and it shouldn't matter how old your roof is either. You should call another Ins.Co.and ask them about it.They could give you an idea if it is covered.
