I work in a technical field and interviews can grind on for hours. About as much fun as tooth extraction without anesthetic. If I start the inquiry process with the HR recruiter person she/he will sell me on how wonderful everything is and try to get me in for an interview proper. How best to find out if a company is worth giving them 4-5 hours or stress and sweat?

I am partial to Japan, Brazil, or Norway. I am wanting any job that will give me good expierience, but how can I if I cant even get my foot in the door? If you can help PLEASE help!

I'm sorry to sound like such a couch potato, no drive having bum, but I'm tired of working. BUT I DO LIKE MONEY, AND CLOTHES, AND FOOD, AND MY APARTMENT, AND HEAT AND ELECTRICITY. :) Do you think you'll ever save enough money so that one day you'll retire well off? That's if you're still able to enjoy it? (Looks like I'm working in the am again.)

I'm looking to see how a company like First Data or Mastercard makes money. I read that JPMorganChase decided to move away from First Data to process their cards.

Can someone explain how First Data makes money (not via Western Union)?

Am I to understand that they "process" the credit card or debit payment? So if they process payments for a particular bank or credit card company, they make a fee for every transaction? What is that fee normally?

Is this in addition to the fees Mastercard or Visa makes as well?

It seems to me that credit card usage will keep increasing, even in rough economic times, and that the companies that will benefit would be companies like First Data and Mastercard. Can someone chime in on that? Thanks in advance!
