I would say you're screwed. You'll know better next time. Ask your insurance company to list her on your policy and you will both be covered in future. [That's how my policy works in Australia.]

ou can not propose the claim of your dependent because he/she is not covered in your insurance policy.
You can forward your additional member of dependent to your insurer to be added in your insurance policy and then you pay your additional premium for him/her.After that policy has been released you can claim for him/her if something happened to him/her and insurer company will pay your claim.

it depends. if your kid took your car and got into an accident, there could be some coverage. what kind of claim was it?
