My son & I are renting a room in a friend's house. Since he's trying to help us out financially, he's only asking that I pay what I can afford each month until I can save up for a place of my own. In order to enroll my son in school, I need a copy of my lease. Prob is, I don't know where I can get a simple room rental lease agreement form template that really is free. I would appreciate any help and time anyone can give me. I've already done a search and all the ones I've checked into end up one way or another, wanting money I don't have. Thank You!!!

I joined a salon on a month to month membership. This is a "pay as you go" agreement, not an EFT. In other words, I didn't sign a contract obligating me to pay a fee every month.

When I signed up with this salon, they took my debit card number so that when I choose to pay a month's worth of membership, they can take it directly from my account.

Well, I decided to cancel my membership. I went to the salon and they told me that I have to call a toll free number, which I learned is for their billing company Affiliated Acceptance Corp. I called three times already, and each time there's a different excuse as to why they can't access my account to cancel it. The person at the salon told me that it shouldn't be a problem, if I don't go in to renew my membership for that month, they aren't supposed to bill my account. But I don't trust them and want to make sure they can't bill me. If I get a different debit card from my bank, can the salon still take money from my account?

I maybe being considered for a position but since I don't know for sure I noticed another job I'd like to apply for within the same company. What would be the proper etiquette? Should I mention it to the other hiring manager? I wouldn't want to affect my chances but at the same time I want to keep my options open.

Correct me if I am wrong. It is my understanding that if a company employs you for everyday work and you are hired to do work with-in the nature of that business that the employer must pay taxes on you. I further believe that you can only hire someone as a 1099 employee is they are performing a service for you that falls outside of the company's business (example, if you are pizza cook in a pizza restaurant they must hire you as a regular employee for whom they share in the payment of taxes, but if you are a handyman and you come into the pizza shop on occassion to fix things then you can be a 1099 employee who is solely responsible to taxes).

Am I right or wrong? Can you site sources? I'd sure appreciate your help. Thank you.

I just began working at a company (2 months ago) with about 800 world employees. I'm actually also part of a union (first time in my life). Unfortunately they are looking to cut back costs & they are already going to be laying people off. My question to all of you is who gets laid off first. The person who has put the most time in to the company but make more because of their seniority or someone like me who just started and makes the least amount. Who is the union supposed to protect more? We both do the same amount of work, the only difference is they have been here longer than I have. All responses welcome. Thanks!
