Ok, am I the only one who has noticed that the last like 10 times gas prices went up, they spiked up then down just before a gradual increase?

I don't think it's a coincidence that gas spikes quickly, then people start comlaining then it goes down not as much as it went up, but then it slowly goes back to where it was when it spiked or just below.

I think this is a tactic used by the petro companies to inflate prices. A vital resource should not yield record profits, especially when it is in high demand. Granted we are a capitalist country, but there are laws to protect us from price fixing, which I see blatantly happening.

I just return to work from my maternity leave. I have a very nice supervisor and she is leaving the company in 2 months time. She is a manager and I am her assistant. The boss discuss with me and told me that I will take over my supervisor's position. And when I asked him about my salary, he told me that there will not be any changes as it is only replacing of a different position and not increase in job scope! I wanted to resign but if I resign now, my supervisor will be in a position to need to find someone to replace me and herself before she can leave the company. I didn't want to drag her into more trouble as she is very nice to me. What should I do????Tolerate and wait till she leaves before I resign? Am I consider 'unfaithful' if I just resign now? Coz she will have obligation to need to stay to help find workers to replace our position.

I recently attended a meeting where they were promoting some products, and a method of selling, called Multi Level Marketing. Everybody there in this meeting was so hyped up, like nothing can stop them. Its frightening, I also walked out the hall. But I stayed back to listen to that guy up on stage going on about how much money he has made, and how many others like him have been making tons of money, selling their products and recruiting new members to do the same thing.
does anyone out there know how this works? If so, please share

I am wanting to start a business with my mother, and I don't want to go into much detail for obvious reasons, but it is a wonderful idea centered around children and mother nature (organic methods of life). Where would I start for planning the business and to get a loan or grant to help with the upstart? Please, only people who truly know this process!! I am very serious, and I am afraid that if we wait too long it will be too late.

I have enrolled in School this Fall, schedule, is done, Financial Aid is in order all I have to do is show up. Been putting off College for 10 years, I make decent money now but I would like to be more marketable in the long run since I only have a high school diploma and losing the job I have would mean I would start at entry level again, a pay cut which I can't live with, etc. at the same time there is speculation of lay offs at present job in October/November of this Year just don't know who, how many, etc, so sort of a gamble to stay or not to stay. The next day after Orientation and I have wrapped my brain around the fact I am going back to school Full time I am offered a Job in NYC, more pay than I get now. But in the long run may or may not be for me. I have lived in NY before so not a stranger to living there. Oh yeah and I would have a month from now to start working there. What would you do ?

there was an article published, by wal-mart, recently that says, if you steal something from wal-mart that is priced above $25.00 they will prosecute you. I f you steal something that is under $25.00 they wont prosecute you. Isn't that ridiculous? and why would they publish that? Its like telling people to come on in and take whatever they want and they wont get prosecuted. Its pretty stupid if you ask me.
