I am working in NJ, but I just moved to NYC. Is that I can save more if I keep my NJ address as my primary residency and use my NYC address as my secondary home? so I can enjoy lower state tax from NJ and mortgage interest allowance from federal? is that true?

When taking out holiday insurance i used the same company i have always used but this time we were taking a motorcycle holiday so i specifically asked the broker if we were covered for touring around europe on our motorcycles or if i needed to take extra cover as this isn't an everyday joe bloggs holiday. I was placed on hold and the member of staff came back and told me i didn't need to and asked no further details.
My partner was killed in a motorcycle accident whilst on holiday in france. the insurance company repatriated his body home but have now told me they wont pay any death benefit because the bike was over 125cc. they paid for him to come home "ex-gratia".
But I was led to believe i was covered by the broker who obviously went and asked someone whether it be the insurance company or a collegue. Do I have a case? Whats my next move? who do i go to the insurace company or the broker? I would appreciate any info Thanks in advance

I quit school recently so I could spend more time with my wife.

I was working full time and going to school at night for 5 years.

I recently graduated a community college with an associates degree.

I am not planning to go back to school because my wife and I want to have a baby and I don’t want to be at school when I could be with my child.

People say I will regret it, but I really love my job and I think even if I got laid off or fired I could find another job that paid decent with my accounting experience.

I have a stable finance job with a well known company. There’s a lot of room for me to grow and make more money within the company.

Even if I had a degree I wouldn’t want to leave my job, and getting a degree really isn’t require for me to move up in the company.

Do you regret not getting a degree? Why or why not?

The house is a two story with a spacious attic that can be turned into a room. The landlord acts like she should be able to come in and use that room anytime she wants. She has even put a lock on the door and lock some of my personal belongings in that room.

Washington? My dad is considering moving from Texas and he does not have a master's license, not from lack of experience. I'd really like for him to be able to do this. Anyone know the answer to this? The department of labor and licensing websites were a little confusing to someone who doesn't really know what she's looking for.

Ok, so I went on an interview in the beginning of July. Over the next two weeks they interviewed several folks. I know that they have called two of my references. Both told me they had a good conversation with the interviewer. So, I emailed the hiring manager to touch base. He told me that my references were very helpful and that he could not make an offer to the candidate they have selected until they complete some new HR procedures. He mentioned that he didn't expect to have to do these things but it was necessary. Then thanked me for my patience.

Does this sound like the person could be me?

How long do HR procedures take?

Any advice would be helpful. The waiting is getting kinda tough.

I'm currently a teacher. I'm looking to go lateral entry into the financial services field. I'm absolutely passionate about financial systems, markets, securities, banking, investments etc. and am willing to commit my life to this profession.

There are very few entry level positions available for people like me however. Even though I know have a better work ethic, more ability, and passion for this field....I'm worried that companies will be looking for the typical college graduate.

I did find an entry level financial analyst position available near me. It indicated that they are hiring financial anlaysts in the product control function of their investment banking division.

Do you have any recommendations about pursuing this type of job?

Also, any advice on acquiring a job in equity or securities research? I'm looking for a step in the door....I can do the rest when I get in. Thanks in advance!

My husband and I are both 30 years old, and we just started saving this year. We are only able to save $250 each month in a Target Retirement mutual fund. Our goal is to save 15% of our gross income each month (but right now, we are only saving about 10%). Will we have enough money when we retire? I don't want to be 80 years old, looking for a job at Walmart because we didn't save enough. My husband is in the military, so we should also be getting a pension at the end of 20 years in service. I certainly hope that social security, a pension and our Target Retirement mutual fund are enough to keep us out of the poor house!

I'm a recent grad in computer science (B.S). I just recently started a job at an Hospital within the IT department. I noticed a lot of people that work here have worked a very long time (10 15 years in one position). I notice their knowledge is very limited to only what is here (no where else). It's like if you give them a task they are not used to they do poor. Their knowledge base as you call it becomes extreamly narrow. I also can't understand why someone would want to work someplace for 10 to 20 years. I would want to move around and advance myself. I'm young though (24). Is this normal????
