Ok, I am stuck trying to come up with a name for my website. I make and design business cards, brochures, etc. I came up with Chameleon Dezigns. That's all so far, but I need something that will catch people! I really want this business to get off it's feet! Please help me with some suggestions. Thanks!

What about just 9 Designs?

The naming of your business could be one of the most important decisions you will make. A name's originality and legal availability will create a real asset value of its own, as it becomes marketed and gains market acceptance.

The name you choose will become the focal point of all the benefits and features that relate to your business. Customers will be able to find and refer others to it in the future.

Since any names that are suggested here may already be owned by another party, I wanted to go a different route...

I suggest either hiring a name creation firm or get together with your friends and/or family and throw a "name party" & have everyone bounce some ideas around. Compile a listing of names that you like the best. Once you have that list, do as much free research as you can before you delve into comprehensive research.

I listed some links where you can do some preliminary name checking. However, please be aware that this is merely scratching the surface of what's out there.

Only comprehensive research will tell you if the name is truly available. But, these links are free & a great place to start, so I'd try them out first.

Comprehensive research consists of looking at marks that are similar in Sound, Appearance or Meaning in the pending & registered Federal AND State trademark files as well as the US National Common-Law files.

There are other sites that offer free searching capabilities in conjunction with their commercial services, so I'm not able to post those links due to the Yahoo! TOS. You'll also want to check domain names & yellow pages, so simply do a search for "free domain name search" and "national yellowpages" and the appropriate links will pop up.

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

Chameleon Designs might mislead people as it implies a deception of nature. How about Iris Designs ? I don't suggest misspelling the words it may appeal to some but it'll turn the more conservative stickler for detail types away. There is also Colrama (goddess of color) Designs. With the goddess reference you risk turning the conservative Christan off but most other religions aren't offended with it. Now you could try 9 planets design in reference to the solar system and with the number in there you can doll it up for your business cards. I don't think the 9 planets designs would offend many people and it has several possibilities for designing a catching logo. I think the 9 planets slogan makes the most practical sense. You could have the solar system on the background of your cards but you'd have to be careful not to make it to busy. A lot of what you do will hit people subconsciously and the number nine is symbolic of regeneration. It will appeal for that reason to the novice or the shaman. The message is there universal regeneration and if you can make the right card you'll have a catchy logo.

Well, your avatar is eye catching, so I think you will do very well.
Chameleon suggests blending not necessarily something that will pop out at you. The spelling is very interesting, maybe the z in dezigns or maybe the tail of the g could be a tail of a chameleon.

Biz Dezigns Short and sweet. Add a word in front that is catchy.
Don't make it to complex to be easy to remember. Good Luck
