I have fallen on the road and have broken a bone in my finger. What should I do know? Can I claim compensation. I have heard of all sorts about claim management companies that they charge heavy fees? Who should I tell about my claim?

I'm 38, Married and have a primary mortgage of ~170,000 (@5.785%) and a HELOC of about 40,000 (@7.5%).

For years, I've always paid about $200/mo extra on my primary mortgage and contribute about 8% of my income to my 401K. Given the high interest rate on my HELOC, should I be putting every bit of available cash toward paying down my HELOC, or should I continue to invest in my 401K.

It seems to make sense for me to suspend my 401K contributions and put that money toward HELOC until the rates come back down or until the HELOC balance is more reasonable.

I have no other debt.

Any advice?

I recently turned in a resume to a job that I really want to get at a high scale restaurant. How long do you think I should wait to check back and show that I am interested without being a pest? When I turned in the resume I handed it to the head chef (the only one there) because unfortunately the owner was not there. He said he would be sure to get it to the owner who does the hiring. Do you think it would be insulting to the chef if I go back in right away to check to see if it was received?

If the company does not have an online job application form, is it still acceptable to email your letter and CV to apply for a position?

Or is post more formal and correct?

I got a really good job through a temp agency recently, but I feel like I'm being shorted money.

The job is a position as a bilingual English/Spanish inside sales representative for a chilean lumber company in the U.S. The position at first glance seems pretty simple and straight forward, you know, basic order entry and account reconciliation, but it's not. It's highly involved and requires someone who not only can think really quickly, but can communicate professionally in English and Spanish because I'm dealing with business professionals in Latin American.
The agency told me the pay range would be starting at, at least $16/hr., but they are paying $13/hr for the job. I need to know how to get them to increase my pay to where it should be because of the heavy work load and specialized skill required for the job. The lack of money would severely affect my job performance and without it I don't know if I can do well so I can get a permanent job there in the future.

And do you like your job? I work at a manufacturing company that produces products for various financial institutions across the western United States. It's very boring, and I hate it, but it pays the bills.

I'm looking to get out of renting and found a home. Is there a website that I can tell it the price of the home and choose a type of mortgage and see what the payments would be? I was told by someone to get a 5 1 arm because I only plan on living here 3-4 more years before moving. The only sites I can find are for 30 and 40 year mortgages.

I told her 3 months ago that the windows don't close. She sent a guy to fix it one month ago, he said the house had shifted, no way to fix it. She called another window repair guy. They came over yesterday while I was out, without notice, and entered the house while no one was home. My rental agreement says she needs to give at least a phone call the day before unless it is an emergency. I don't think this is considered an emergency since she has known about the problem for 3 months. She also left a lease extension in the house, raising the rent and extending the lease another year, but the lease expired 7/1, and the agreement says she need to do that one month before the lease expires.
