Want to have a change of job. Interested in learning SAP and to become a functional consultant. Will it be easier to study ?. What is the demand for it - Will there be an immediate employment

Go for it ! You should first find a SAP helpdesk to get used to the system.

You do require a measure of comfort in working with computers, even as a functional consultant. If you have not been motivated to work with computers in those 23 years in spite of holding down a banking job, I'd reckon it might not be smooth sailing for you.
