It depends on what country you reside, you tax code which will relate to your circumstances, whether you have deductions that impact on the taxable part of your pay and your salary level. It isn't a precise science!

It really depends on your tax code. However if you are on the standard tax code, that most people are on.
If you earn £500 a week, you will have weekly deductions of approx £80 tax and approx £44 National insurance.
So on £500 a week, you will take home £375.

all depends on your tax code.... but if you include National insurance as well it comes to around 24%... so approx £120 tax total with a take home of around 380... give or take £10
