I already have health insurance through my wife's company, but my company is now starting to offer insurance. We just renewed our policy at my wife's company, and that won't run out until June 30 next year. My company's insurance will start August 1. Benefits are better with my wife's company, and even though we have to pay, I'd rather have that.

Any advice?

that he found an old bank account booklet in my name. I had completly forgotten about opening this (savings account)as I was only about 12 yrs old. The bank and my dads home is 400 miles away. I never closed the account. Should I expect a surprise or disappointment when I get the book from dad and call them to check the status of that accounts. it was not a whole lot of money but it was alot for a kid 40years ago. when I put the money into this account at that time there was not such a thing as account service fee's as back then bank offered these as incentive for kids to save. My question is of legal nature if the money is gone and eaten up by fee's, do I have legal recourse to recover the cash plus 40 yrs of interest?

The problem..My son wants an 4 wheeler. He is a good kid! never gives me a moments trouble. i really want to do this for him. But no will finance!! Does anyone know of any lenders that will finance someone with past bad credit to make his dream come true???? thank you!!!! He isn't spoiled, he doesn't have "everything" and I think with his behavior, etc, that he deserves this.

I realize the down-side to a life experience degree, but I find myself in need of an advanced degree for a job I am already doing in a foreign country (and have been doing for several years)...and I am completely unwilling to spend the money or effort on a traditional type of program. I need something within a few months.

The diploma itself needs to look good. I need transcripts and the ability to have diploma and transcripts verified at least by mail (a fee would be expected). I would like to find a company/school that didn't blatantly advertise life experience degrees and had, as close as possible, the appearance of a traditional distance learning university or a brick and mortar school. In other words, I want it to be as close to a traditional degree as possible. I am more concerned with quality than expense.

Thank you very much to anyone who offers an opinion...especially if you have personal experience with the company/school you recommend.

My mom wants to move from her home to a smaller apartment, but she wants to keep the house in the family for my brother and me. We can't afford to buy it from her just yet. Plus, the house needs a fair amount of work and we'd need to refinance to get that work done.
I'd like to be able to take over the property from her, refinance for about 150K, and pay that off myself. However, I worry about getting whacked with the gift tax. And I'm not sure that I can refinance if she puts the house in a living trust with me as the trustee. Any advice? The house is in NY state, I live in NJ, and she'd like to move out here near us.

Any help would be appreciated.

I received quite a number of job offers via e-mail as payment representative. These people are apparently from other countries (ireland, africa, china) with businesses or projects and they need people to transact money for them in the U.S. They ask for my full name, address, and other personal details. It says "these payments are in form of money orders or cashier's checks and they would be made in your name, so all you need do is cash the money order deduct your percentage (10%) and wire the rest back" to wherever country they're in. It's obviously a scam, but does anyone know exactly how it works??? Thanks!

We make over 80,000 a year and we have a bad credit rating because of a health issue and some not so smart choices. We are trying to get a loan to pay off everything on our credit (less than 7000.00) not counting our car loan (up in FEB 07) and our house (we owe110,000 and it is worth 135,000, but can't get a home equity loan in TX b/c of the refiance only 80% law.) We can afford a payment of up to 475.00 a month. I have a listing on Prosper, but I only have a few bids right now. The listing is under gandbcole if you want to find out a little more about us. I just need to know where to find a private investor that wants to carry a loan for 2 yrs at a 28.75% rate. I do not mind paying the high interest if I can get rid of all the old on my credit and only have good stuff showing to improve it. What should I do? I would even sign a personal guarantee putting up the equity on my home for collateral. Just do not know where to look.
