bought my house in 1991 for £85,000. still owe £72,000. changed to interest only mortgage about 3 years ago( due to financial reasons) the intention now is to sell the house around 2009/2010 and paying off the mortgage and moving to nottingham. The mortgage is due in 2013 .The value of the house at present is 270,000.Will I come unstuck? Friends say interest only is a bad idea but I think I have enough equity to buy a house in nottingham with the equity.

Have you bought a product just because a celebrity has said they use it? How influenced are you by this form of advertising? Would you swap brands just because, say, a movie star you admired started using it?
Vast amounts of money is given to sports people to advertise sports shoes; or movie stars to say how good a hair shampoo is. Is it cool to copy?

that they will be faxing an offer over that night. I didn't receive the fax offer that night and the next morning I called the Realtor and he said that he would be sending the offer shortly. Well, two days later I still have not received the offer to Purchase my home from this Realtor?

Does this normally happen in the Real Estate World?

Should I give the Realtor another phone call to check up on the status of this offer?

I really don't want to call again and look to desperate and get a lower offer.

Suggestions on what I should do?

I believe these facts to be true:
* dividends are paid out of a company's equity
* as a shareholder, you're only getting your own capital back (no gains)
* the exchange deducts the dividend from the share price once paid (see example below)

Example: You have 10 shares worth $10 each, or a total investment of $100 (10 shares x $10).

You receive a dividend of $1 per share. That's $10 cash in your pocket (10 shares x $1); however, at the same time your shares go down in value by one dollar to $9 a share. Thus, you now have:

$10 cash in your pocket plus:
ten shares at $9 each worth a total of $90.

After the dividend, you STILL are worth $100, yet the governement will slap you with a tax bill on your dividend.

WHY? WHY? WHY? Someone PLEASE answer this. This is madness.

Thanks.

I'm finding it impossible to get approval for a student loan because I previously declared bankruptcy. I can easily get approved for a car loan, but not for my education. Anyone with ideas or information about this situation please respond. I have to pay for nursing school by August 1st!

I would also appreciate suggestions on investing in general, as well as specific suggestions. Although I am very good at the things I do to maintain livlihood, I haven't spent much time becoming educated in the arts of making money work for me instead of me working for it.Thanks in advance everybody.

For 3 years I've been getting HB and failing to declare an allowance (i.e. fairly regular cheques) from my parents. I now realise that an allowance is counted as income. So what's the worst they can do, please?
