Be careful of the comment about being tax-free. After all any income is "required" to be reported when doing your income taxes at the end of the year.

(I can hear everyone saying yeah right...)
I'm just letting everyone know that all income is supposed to report it, I'm not twisting any ones arm, only educating about the system.

Some times there are good reasons to report it, such as starting an retirement plan with the money. That at such a young age would be worth a lot of money in the future.

Remember a person that waits until age 26 to start an IRA and saves $2000.00 per year until age 65, still can't catch up with the person that saved $2000.00 per year from age 18, through 25, and never added any more money to their IRA.

Knowledge is only worth a darn if you are able to put it to good use.

Well seing as you were getting paid over the minimum wage that the United States says is legal then yes. But you honestly have to consider how much work and effort you put into babysitting. If you sat and watched TV for 3.5 hours while making your self food and sharing some with thei children, then yes you got what you deserve. If you were running around putting fires out all day then you were surely ripped off :-).

I think so. It also depends on how many kids you were watching. If it was only 1 or 2 then yes that is a fair amount.

if that is without taxes taken out then it is roughly 28.00 with taxes ( which everyone else pays) so that's about $7.68 a hour which is pretty good wages if you ate while there that is another perk .

as I said earlier, this is over $6.50 and hour and is higher than minimum wage, and tax free, so YES, you are being paid well.
