Im looking for general and specific ideas on ways to make a little extra income besides getting a second job.. I work as a waiter and Im thinking about getting a second job but geezthere has to be a better way to make some money besides giving up more time.. anyone have any ideas?

Too make a long and boring story short and to help you with your question, recently, I was looking for money making opportunities that didn't promise me to "get rich quick" or pay me "$30,000 a month" ( 2 sure warning signs of a scam) or cost any money to join. I was fortunate enough to come across a website that helped me with free info and tips on making extra money at home! I will post website at the bottom.
Also it is important for me to state, that in no way do I profit from this link, I only profited from the free information from the site. (I would love to copy and paste the information and claim it as my own but that is a copyright violation) so to keep it simple, I will briefly explain what I personally do to make money.
Depending on my free time, I spend about 12 hours a week doing the suggestion that I am about to give you..
(1) Sell items on the Internet. I started out by selling extra items that I had at home, now I go to yard sales, check out discount bins at stores, etc and resell them for a profit on the net.
(2) This is the easiest way (for me) to make extra money. Believe it or not, I make extra pocket change by "reading emails. I just click on a email link and wait for a timer to expire, close the link and move onto the next email. It is a simple as that.
(c) Another popular way is to start your own blog and or website. You can share your experience or expertise, provide information ,sell items etc. It may take and effort to make money from your blog or website, but try to design it properly and your site or blog will start to make you money.
The internet is a great form of extra income because the internet is open 24 hours a day and seven days a week...Hopefully, you will find my answer helpful!!!

I recently joined M2C Global as a dealer. Basically, I give out samples of their new energy drink A.C.T.
I joined 2/27/2006 and earned a check my first day. Within 30 days, I was receiving checks 3-4 times a week.
I do this business while Highschool!!.
M2C is adding about 1,000 new dealers a day. Some have ended up in my sales team, so I receive commissions on anything they purchase, or sell.
Not bad for a business that is FREE to join.

Tips? you got a scholarship, chose specific subs, are going to go to college... I just think that she is stressed. I don't know i might be stereotyping here but I think *think* that it is a lot more common for people in America to work than to study. it's just a tough time for everybody. Listen from one ear and let all the words out the other. If you know you are getting a tough time just don't fight or avoid such situations. I know that it's hard to control most of the times but if your mom will say something to you then just stay quiet and put your head down (think whatever you want to in your head) reply politely. Better to be safe than sorry (your walking to the bus situation). If she gets irritated that you wake up late then start waking up early. If you can't earn money outside of the house then try to think of ways to save money inside of the house, help your mom around with her work and take care of your siblings as if you are babysitting for money but just with more vigor! Look into Information Marketing or try to learn Website desgining (which you can do from home). Try giving out home tuitions.

If you've got stuff, then E-bay or Amazon has got room for you to sell it. I've never sold anything on those sites, but I always buy stuff. Hey, maybe I'll buy something of yours.

collect pop bottles/cans and turn them in for recycling. I live in BC, Canada and we're also paid for returning liquor bottles and any juice containers (plastic, tetra-pac etc). How much you make depends on how much effort you want to put in.
