I am considering a large tribal tattoo. Similar to a pair of permanent "shorts" I have been thinking of this for some time and am just working out the design. I've pretty well drawn up the design, mainly contrasting triangle patterns and large blocks of black with negative images, kind of art deco-ish. It'll be from waist to upper knees, all images bold.. Is there a specific meaning to this type of tattoo? I would like to keep it strickly a work of art and not a particular tribal affliation, though it will have a few polyneasian influences.

If your anti ink please don't reply, all other opionions are welcome.

I have booked an appointment to have a tattoo done on my lower back next Friday (1st June). One thing I didn't think to mention to them was that I am going abroad on hols on the 20th June. Would it be advisable to change my appointment until I come back as it will be very hot there, I'll have a bikini on most days and will be in and out of the pool. Friends have said it takes a week or so to heal, but I don't want it to look a mess while I'm away or risk damaging it!!

i know it shouldn't matter what other people think, but i'm just curious.

the tattoo would be in a fancy font on the inner wrist of my right hand in, hopefully, white ink.

endure

*no capital E

also, does it matter which hand it's written on? for example, if i wrote it on my left wrist, would it mean something different?

I'm looking for a reputable tattoo shop in Denver. Specifically, I'm getting some intricate script, and my boyfriend is getting a celtic design. I need an artist with strong line work. Any recommendations?

My gran swears by Echinacea, you have a cold- echinacea, you have an infection- echinacea, you feel unwell- echinacea. I read it's generally to encourage the healing of wounds particularly if prone to infection, and as a natural antiseptic. Improves the integrity of the skin. Minor wounds, cuts, grazes, bites and stings. Boils and skin infections. neuralgia, shingles, cold sores....
Can I used this in a cream form to help new tattoo heal?

Me and my mom want to get a tattoo on our toes of just a plan star with a black outline. Very simple. We a know a lady who has one and it looks great, but we have heard from many people (not tattoo artist) that artist will not do it becuase it will bleed together. I was wondering if this is true and if there is a better play to get it where you could hide it.

I'm getting a small tattoo on the back of my neck today, pretty high up above most of the spinal bones. I was wondering any input of people who have tattoos there of how painful it will be?

Just wondering this....why do so many people like to get Asian characters on themselves - esp if they are not Asian? It seems that most of the people that get these characters don't know anything about the culture or the language...so what's your motivation in doing so? I just find it really odd and kind of funny when I see it.

Also - just for your information if you are wondering because these facts don't seem to be known:
1. In order to be correct, the character needs to be EXACT - no altering of the character at all
2. The true way to write Chinese actually run vertically and right to left...you can write it in an English language formation but it isn't gramatically correct.
3. There are different characters for different types of the same word. (ie. The character for Change: you can change clothes, change your point of view...the character for "change" will be different characters) - make sure you get this right if you are going to tattoo something on yourself.

I got it pierced in the fall of 2006 and today 05/07 I took it out for less then 2 hours for an interview and had a painful/difficult time trying to put my labret back in! I know lip piercing close extremely fast but after 4 months I would think that it would be simple to put back in. Can a lip piercing close after that long of a period? and how can I make it easier to put back in?
