well, if you live in the US you cant get it until you are 18... so you have time to think it over.
Tattoos are a very personal thing... nobody but you has to like it, because its YOUR body.

Ok, well I went and got my first tattoo at the ripe old age of 16, at a slightly shady place that didn't card me. I drew it myself and the artist screwed it all up (probably because the place was shady) so now I'm designing a cover up for it (9 years later). My opinion is to wait until you're legal for sure, and go to a reputable place. Pick an artist who's done work on people you know (that turned out really good that is) and if you still want your last name choose an artist that either specializes in that or has several pics in his/her portfolio of names. I'm not so good at names, but I'm just starting out with tattooing. I can design and tattoo a rocking cool tribal though!

first off your 13 so I'm guessing your friends have been calling you by your last name maybe for the past year. why your last name? so you can be easily identified? if people know you, you don't need your name plastered on your body for years to come. plus you wont even be able to look at it unless your head can turn a whole 180.
don't get me wrong I am a fan of the tattoos - I have some myself and so does my husband. Just wait till your older kiddo.

By the way you will not be looked down upon when getting a job - its those kind of people who are narrow minded a**holes. I am VP of a major marketing company in Illinois and my husband owns his own business. People will remember whats unique about you if you have a strong personality and carry yourself well.

You should know that in polite society, people with tattoos are looked down on. If you ever want to break out of the lower or lower middle class, you will have given up your chance forever when you get your tattoo.

I am sorry to tell you this, and you probably will not like the answer, but it is the actual truth.

How about a temporary one? Bring your design to an artist who could render it on you in permanent ink.

PS this name thing sounds like what they do in jail. Nice for a 13-year-old!

i'm uncertain the way it feels between the shoulder blades yet I even have one on my shoulder blade and yet another one contained in direction of my back promptly on my backbone. They the two harm on the subject of a similar and it wasn't that undesirable. the single on my back took 5 hours to get completed, we made a pair 10 minute breaks to chill and function a drink. I could desire to declare it extremely is extra unsightly than different physique areas (hips, chest, palms) yet truthfully no longer a terrible feeling.

Don't do it! You're are WAY too young. You will change your tastes sooooooo many times over your lifetime. If I wanted (ang got) a tatoo at that age it would be Fonzie from Happy Days.

Well if you're only 13...you have quite awhile to think about it. It wouldn't be a tattoo that I would want personally but if you really like it, then it's all you.

Good idea, I think you should go the distance and get a uniform number underneath it too, that way you won't need to wear a jersey when you play football...

You will only need it tattooed on your back if you think your going to forget it anytime soon. Seriously what is the point.
