How would that make you weird? Do only what you want to do to your body for your own reasons. No one can ague with that.

I was in the same boat, sort of. I'm about a year older than you. All I had previously was pierced ears (2 left, 1 right) from eons ago when such raised eyebrows - which generally weren't pierced.
I've hung out with lots of tattooed folks & been a real hanger-on for at least 10 years. It was about 30 that I determined I definitely wanted a tattoo, as opposed to generally wanting one in my early 20s, but took another decade to figure out what.
If you're speaking from the perspective of unusual, Rider posted some statistics for age groups & who has tattoos. I think roughly 14% in the 40-49 have tattoos, and 28% in the 30-39 are inked. That raises to nearly 50% in the 20-29 group, so even there you wouldn't be odd.
If you really want one, whether you just like the art a lot or have some deep reason, I'd say go for it. If it's to fit in, pass or at least think more about it. Peer pressure tattoos don't just happen to the 20something types. Do go for a real artist & don't go on the cheap if you decide to get a tattoo, though.

I don't understand why you think that's wierd. There are plenty of people like you. On the other hand, if you really want a tattoo, don't think age or legs - (not sure I understand that - there are plenty of places to get a tattoo. Not sure what legs has to do with it) stop you. I started getting my first tattoos at 38.
Those who have answered with the old and wrinkly arguement seem to think that when they get old they won't get wrinkly just because they don't have tattoos....who really cares what you look like at 80? I'll be worrying about much heavier things than what my tattoos - which no one will probably see - will look like.
If you've always wanted one then do it! You are at the PERFECT age to get a tattoo!

I think you are weird for asking the question. You are 40, and still not comfortable with who you are? If you have always wanted a tattoo and still want one at 40 then do it. I got 1 single tattoo at 25, (on my calf) no regrets at 36.

m'kay, since you dont want any lectures cause youre gonna do it anyways, just be aware of infections cause one of my ear pericings got infected. But anyways, based off of personal experience, i would NOT peirce both at once cause its gonna be annoying to clean and it WILL HURT. just saying so yea i wouldnt do both at once, maybe wait a month for the second time, until the others heal a bit for less pain and annoyances

I am 40 and have 5 tattoos around my right ankle and want one more, with them on my ankle I can wear anle socks if I need to cover them and if I don't I always get comments on how cute they are. They are Disney characters, how's that for being young at heart?

I think that you are very normal. There are other places besides your legs that you can get a tattoo. Try your back, thighs, arms. I just recently got one on my foot and its so adorable.

No, your not weird. If you want a tattoo get one. I don't know what you mean by my legs are not that good. But if you mean a lot of varicose veins, get one on your butt, or back. Good luck.
