Skin peels will not take care of it. Salabrasion is barbaric ,however some significant lightening of small areas of some tattoos have been successful with overtattooing a salt solution and sometimes salt pasting over it. The gimmick creams, lotions, and potions on the market are useless.
Laser is still the best bet.

First off you have to define the situation. You said her having tattoos and her going out of her way to get them is something you don't like, and would make you want to leave her. If you guys are in a serious relationship, then you guys need to find a way to sort and work through your interest because there are things you will find in both of you that you will not like about each other. Now with makeup, yes you can cover them. Though it's costly cause you need all the materials and not only that but make the effort to cover them every day which can be a hassle. If you wanna find out how to do this, look it up on YouTube and type in "Cover Tattoos makeup tutorial". Another way to get rid of them is by lazer surgery which is a pain in the bum from what I've heard and seen. You have to go through processes by paying 200 bucks each time you come in just to burn and scar your skin. Or the old fashion way take a eraser and rub, but that would be stupid :).. But if its something you dont like, then maybe you both should part. I dont wanna sound mean :) I hope I didnt. Good luck to both you and her though!

There is a very old method involving scrubbing the skin with salt. The idea is that the scrubbing and salt in combination will over time remove the ink from the skin.
This method does have significant scarring risks if overdone.
This method is sometimes called salabrasion.
There are also claims that TCA which is used in concentrations up to 12 % for skin peels , will fade and remove tattoos. A good cosmetician should know about skin peels .

I had a friend who tried to cut off a half sleeve (seriously) and needless to say, he is now the proud owner of nerve damage and a badly disfigured arm... Use the laser.

Apparently wart cream works, but leaves a terrible scar... I would just use the laser...
