I'm looking for a salon in the San Diego area that specializes in - or at least is knowledgeable of - popular Japanese hairstyles for women. I have really thick Asian hair and I need hair designers who will understand my hair and know how to treat it.

I'd like to get my hair back to medium neutral/slightly warm blonde. My hair is currently dark auburn brown. It's in pretty good shape with very little damage.
I've heard that a double-process might work, but I'd like to try to do it myself if possible. If not, I have no problem going to a salon (but would REALLY like to do it myself!) What do you need to do for this?
Otherwise, I was thinking of going step by step, and using dark ash blonde to neutralize the red tones a bit and lighten it, and in a few days put in some highlights.

okay, i want to wear my hair up in a ponytail but when i was little i wore it once and everyone made fun of me and i looked like a boy. but now i think its looks kind of good but i am afraid if i wear it to school everyone will laugh at me. and i have to wear it in a ponytail for cheerleading and i have to cheer in front of the whole middle school and i am afraid i will get made fun of. wut do i do? please help!

My hair is pretty thick, but NOT really thick. It's in the middle, more on the thick side though. I was just wondering what exactly happens when you go to get your hair 'thinned'? Do you think it would make my hair less frizzy and poofy? What should i request if I go? Thank you so much!

I want to try dying a small section of the undersides of my hair a color to see if it will look good with my coloring; and if it does, I want to put a couple of streaks in my hair. How do I keep the bleach from getting to the parts of my hair that I don't want dyed?

Plase note: I am a cheapskate who has beautifully dyed her own hair before and is dead-set on doing this herself, so please don't try to talk me into an expensive salon treatment!

I'm going on a cruise. I have thick, natural wavy/curly hair. I hate wearing it down unstraightened, but I'm going to need a low maintainence hairstyle. I can't just wear a ponytail, I have side bangs and a large forhead. Or something to keep my hair straight in water, or make my hair have big perfect curls, or perfect waves??

Someone help, this guy is going, and I need to make sure my hair looks good.

My hair used to be nice and thick but, as I've gotten older, it's turned baby fine and breaks off very, very easily! Ugh! Last time I got a perm, I got so much breakage that it really made my hair look funny with this short straight stuff coming up in the middle of the longer, older, curled hair. Any ideas?

I want to know how she'd curl my thick hair. I'm only 13, and very shy. How do you ask you hairstylist how to curl you hair? Will they show you then, or do you have to pay for a new appointmen? Does it cost money, if so, how much?
