What must you consider when it comes down to the underlying pigment and the contributing pigment?

Correct me if I am wrong. under pigment lies under the natural hair, and the contributing pigment is the stages the hair goes through as the color processes?

And my second question:

For example, if your natural hair color is dark brown and you brought it to a medium brown, waited a few months and decided that you would like to bring your hair up to a medium blonde, what factors must I consider when dealing with the under pigment, and contributing pigment? do i need to neutralize the medium brown before I work with the medium blonde?

Hey, I posted something similar to this a few days ago, but got 0 answers. Anyway, I ordered a sample bottle of the stuff (Aveda Damage Remedy) and I was wondering if anyone has used it. If so, what are the instructions for using it? Do I rinse it out while in the shower or do I keep it in as a leave-in conditioner? It didn't come with instructions. Thanks!

I ran out of shampoo the other day and washed my hair with regular bar soap. It worked OK. Is there any real reason to use shampoo instead of soap?

I am a black woman with long thick thick hair. I perm it myself but I have a hard time wrapping it. Is it a web site I can go to that can tell me how to wrap it while its drying. I usually can wrap it a little but the top in the middle is always left puffed up instead of laying down and I end up letting it dry straight down and using a flat iron. I want it layed down with a little body after I comb it down and I know I have to know how to wrap it good like the beauty shop does.

When I shower and then dry my hair (either air dry OR blow dry) it becomes EXTREMELY frizzy. My hair is thin, but if you saw how it gets, you'd swear it was thick. I've tried multiple anti-frizz products and nothing works.I've tried Sunsilk, Zero Frizz, Frizz Ease, L
Oreal Paris 'vive', and Matrix.

The only thing that makes my hair not frizzy is to straighten it. I straighten it about everyday, but now I have multiple (and horrible) split ends! I don't know what to do! I can't not straighten my hair without having a lion's mane, but I know it's damaging. I've scrunched my hair with mouse, and it looked good, but after half an hour, the fly aways appeared, and the frizz returned.

I just don't know what to do anymore. Any suggestions would be VERY helpful.

I haven't cut my hair in....a couple of years, 1. because when I was straightening it, it just didn't grow 2. not time and no money

so, that means that not all my hair is the same length, but that doesn't stop the ends from being split.

so here's the actual dilema. I already KNOW that getting a hair cut would get rid of my split ends....but only the ends of the longest strands, what about the bunches of them that are like half the length, they're still spilt....what do I do about them.....

oh, one thing, my hair is like...insanely curly and I don't really know if my hair stylist really knows how to deal with that...so....i just don't know what to do

DO NOT JUST SIMPLY SAY GET A HAIR CUT, THERE IS A COMPLEXITY TO THIS QUESTION

I am a student at a cosmetology school and would like to know if there are any professionals out there who may be able to answer my question. I also wonder, how must you neutralize an artificial brown hair color?

Thank you !

I have inbetween curly and wavy hair. I straighten it everyday I wear it down. I would love my thick hair to be worn in a wavy or curly style. The only problem is, my hair ends up looking like a fizzy mix of curls and waves, and strange pieces. How do i get it to have waves like:

I usually dye my hair at the salon, but it is so expensive and they never get it right so i wanna do it as home. Last time i did it at home it turned white and the time before that it turned a reddish color and i had to go to a salon to fix it. This time I have brown hair and i wanna get it blonde with NO red in it whatsoever because i do NOT look good as a redhead. Please help!!! My hair is naturally brown but i got it colored brown a few months ago and it is getting old.
