Hair - February 2007

My hair is pretty hard to manage, but I was looking for another way besides straighening it with an flat iron to control it. I would like to keep my curls, but I also have bangs that frizz up. Any ideas?

I use Dove shampoo. I like it. But do you think that shampoo to inhance fullness really works?
I dont think i need that sort of help. I just always said i like my hippie straight flat hair. Im starting to want to look like a woman. Not just a busy mom with a ponytail. So do shampoos that boost shine or give fullness to hair work? I'm sick of being dull.

#1.) How much do you tip your stylist?
#2.)If a different person washes your hair, how much should you tip her?
#3.)If it's a small salon, and the owner cuts your hair, do you tip him/her? (Someone told me not to tip if the owner does your hair.)

My friends has these white things in her hair. They stick to the hair. (it's wrapped around the hair) I thought it was nits but then they were all white and if they all hatched then she should have aldult lice. I looked but she doesn't. She has a very dry scalp. I'm not sure if they are nits or dandruff.... Please help
Discribe how a nit would look and how you can tell the difference between nits and dandruff. Thanks

I have really short hair to my chin kinda and I can't style very well. Do you have any tips or advice for styling it. I can:
-full pony
-half pony(which is what i do ALOT like all the time mostly)
-down of course straightened, curled, crimped, twisted w/e
-braided kinda
I've never done like anything except those and it bugs me becaus eI'm poor and can't pay for hair extensions and my friend told me that they suck. HELP!

I have dark reddish (dyed) hair in the back, and used garnier's highlight stuff for the front to make it blondish last night. I don't like it at all. It's kinda orange in the front. My hair is very healthy, still feels soft, and it isn't brittle or anything like that, even with me slamming chemicals on it three times in two weeks (I did a wash out black dye two weeks ago). I'm just worried about the color. Can I dye it all to a soft permanent black? Will the color go on evenly with the front being blond, or will it just make my hair all fall out or something? Does putting black over orange blond look okay?

I'm a biracial female that has had extremely curly hair for my entire life. After a home hair cut gone awry, I had to have my head shaved. Since it's been growing back, I've noticed it's no longer curly, but straight. I imagine as it continues to grow it will become wavier, but that's still a big difference from what it was. Did my head-shaving cause this? I also recently started taking a coupel different medications...can chemicals alter your hair as well?

i have long brown hair. just past my chest. it's never been died so it's pretty healthy just no body. I've tried shampoo's and products and i have layers but nothing seems to work. any ideas?

So I have a LOT of those big hair-clips, like ones with bows, and some pretty antique-looking ones of 'gold' with flowers and such, or ones with pearls. Just straight barrettes, I guess, with decoration. They're all about 2-4" long. The question is-- what besides taking a top layer of hair and clipping it in the back-- can I do with them? They need their day out. :) Thanks!

My hair is about an inch or so from my bra line and I'm wanting it atleast two inches below the bra line any ideas? I have been trimming it every 6-8 weeks and heavily conditioning for almost a year now but I don't have much time left the wedding is July 8, 2007. Need some quick growth, I'm very impatient.
