I am a black woman with long thick thick hair. I perm it myself but I have a hard time wrapping it. Is it a web site I can go to that can tell me how to wrap it while its drying. I usually can wrap it a little but the top in the middle is always left puffed up instead of laying down and I end up letting it dry straight down and using a flat iron. I want it layed down with a little body after I comb it down and I know I have to know how to wrap it good like the beauty shop does.

Honestly, it's practice, practice, practice. Make sure you use a large paddle brush and a good wrap lotion. I wrap my hair almost everyday and I do it either wet or dry (usually dry). Part your hair in the middle and start from the back and wrap clockwise. It took quite a few tries for me to get the top to lay right, but it does happen. If you have a really hard time with the top for the time being, use a hair roller for that last piece that won't seem to go flat and you get some lift at the crown until you are able to wrap your whole head. Good luck!

after your relaxer , shampoo, and conditioner then add a setting lotion to wet hair for more body use a foam wrap on towel blotted hair not towel dried just blot out excess water. Motions has a good foam wrap lotion. Then using a medium width comb begin to comb out from crown of head. Then begin to slick the hair down in a circular pattern around the head. Since the moisture of the hair and the setting lotion the hair will stay but for extra smoothness use wrap strips (paper strips) and wrap around head in direction of wrap. Dry hair under dryer until dry. Remove wrap strip Then using a light moisturizing cream apply to wrap (Hair will be extremely hard and this will help the comb-out. After the wrap is combed out wrap DRY hair again using roller clips to hold hair. For more volume add a few rollers to the crown as well. after about 30 mins, release set for a bouncy full wrap every time!

and don't forget you need the right products...wrap lotion (setting lotion) and mousse...
the key is to comb all of your hair down like a mushroom or a bowl on your head, then as you comb around your head, hold the middle down with your fingers and secure it with that tissue paper or your scarf while you sit under the dryer...
...my hair used to take hours to dry so the stylist woul actualy curl the top with big rollers so they wouldn't be tight curls but rather bumped curls and then wrap the rest of my hair around my head...just a thought...

what sort of wrap lotion are you using? There are instances where your hair might be too long to wrap anymore. Try pulling your hair into a taunt bun at night then putting a nylon wrap over it. in the moring, you should have some body....
