It will not "fry" your hair. However it is not great for your hair. Think about it if it can eat away the enamel off your teeth it is not great for your hair. AND NEVER USE SUN-IN!!!! EVEN THE MAKERS OF THE PRODUCT say it is damaging to your hair.

LEmon juice doesnt fry your hari like a straightening iron but it does make it dry and unmosterized. Lemon juice makes your hair blonder so i say give it a go

Lemon juice is acidic so it will dry your hair out.
SUN IN IS PEROXIDE based and will dry it out also. By spraying peroxide (sun in) in your hair, you will get uneven results. People who use the sun-in don't see what it does to thier hair. It looks blotchy and uneven and brassy on most.
Go to a salon and ask them to add just a few highlights around your face to help brighten you up, if that's what your looking for.
Moral of the story??
LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER! LOL.
Good Luck!

I don't know if using lemon juice on a regular basis would hurt your hair, but I use aveda scalp benefits shampoo, it has lemon extract in it, so it natually lightens your hair when you are out in the sun. You will be amazed at how effective it is!!!

It won't be almost nothing but give you a brassy color and same with that sun in stuff, it doesn't give your hair any color. Try one of those brightner shampoos for blonde hair, or have her take you to get a few highlights just on top.

I used lemon juice on my entire body...definitely no frying, but it damaged my hair pretty good. It did burn a little...but that's another story. Try "sun in".....it's designed to lighten your hair. My hair dresser friends recommend that.

NO I LIVE ON THE BEACH. GET SUN -IN. BE CAREFUL THE SUN CAN DO JUST AS MUCH DAMAGE AS LEMON JUICE CAN. MY NEICE COMES DOWN EVERY SUMMER AND I ALWAYS SPRAY HER HAIR WITH SUN-IN- IT MIGHT MAKE IT A LITTLE DRY BUT YOU CAN COUNTERACT THAT WITH A GOOD CONDTIONER AND A NICE LITTLE TRIM REGULARLY. SUN-IN IS GREAT PRODUCT- THE BEACH AIR IS WORSE THAN A LEMON THOUGH. TRUTH NO LIE!! MAKE SURE NOT TO SPRAY ON THE ROOTS OR RUB IN THOUGH. THAT'S THE SECRET.

i have brown hair and i used to spray "sun-in" in my hair, which is basically lemon juice, and go outside in the sun. it worked, and it didn't fry my hair...just make sure you use moisturizing shampoo/conditioner and you should be fine

If your hair is not chemically treated it would probably be okay. Some shampoos actually have citrus oils in them.
