I'd like to get my hair back to medium neutral/slightly warm blonde. My hair is currently dark auburn brown. It's in pretty good shape with very little damage.
I've heard that a double-process might work, but I'd like to try to do it myself if possible. If not, I have no problem going to a salon (but would REALLY like to do it myself!) What do you need to do for this?
Otherwise, I was thinking of going step by step, and using dark ash blonde to neutralize the red tones a bit and lighten it, and in a few days put in some highlights.
What do you think? Oh, here are some pics:

I have been a hairdresser for many years and let me assure you, you do not want to try doing a double process on your own hair. It is a very involved process. The bleach needs to be applied properly and watched carefully after it is applied. It needs to be lifted to the proper level ...one that might look very strange to you. Then the lifted hair needs to be colored back ...this process can also go very wrong if the choice of color has the wrong base. And more than anything...if done poorly your hair can break off.

do heavy hi-lights with bleach use 20 vol peroxide so you can control the lighting speed. since you have a red tint in your hair now use a natural toner to cut some of the warmth. deep conditioning will be a must! If the color is not light enough after the bleach is in after35 mins. rinse and apply a mixture of bleach, peroxide and clarifying shmp. t aka soap cap. this will help lighten your hair but a lot slower.
