Hair - January 2007

O.J I had to stop my day at work and ask this question. I was in the bathroom fixing my hair and recently, I found about 3 or 4 stands of white/grey hair. Im freaking here cuz Im only 20!And I pulled them out. My family has no history of pre-mature white hair growth, so where can these annoying little things coming from?If I pull them out, do more come out and whats the best way to cover them?Perm dye??Please help Im feeling so old here!

i have dark hair..and i want to get it really really blonde..like almost whiite....but i tried the box stuff and it just turns my hair orange... what can i use... i heard that you can use bleach.... but idk if i should try it....do you have suggestions?!!??

My hair is red,and I want to go blonde.Do I need to strip the red right out of my hair bring it back to my natural brown,and then add the blonde highlights???Because if I just put the hightlights over the red there is a possibility my hair could turn pink.....help!!!

i got my hair permed a year ago, and it still kinda has a little bit of wave left but most of the time it is just flat and dull so any reccomendations of shampoos, styling products, and tips would be greatly appreciated!

Hi. Im ethiopian and my hair is soft when its wet, but it gets drie really easily. I started using sunsilk after someone recomened it to me on yahoo answers and it really hydrates my hair. My friends hair used to be like mine but over a period of time it came to be like some spanish peoples hair[soft and curly]. what can i do to speed up that process. Should i was my hair more often to make it softer[i wash it every 2 weeks now] and or should i use some special oils or what?What do you think and remember this is advise for someone with black hair and no a perm is not an option!

I dyed my hair about a week and a half ago, and the haircolor turned out to be too light..I wanted to go really dark brown, but It didnt work...I used to have my hair light brown before..So now I have two different haircolors..althought the difference is subtle, its still noticeable.Can I use a semi/demi permanent haircolor to fix the problem?

i have 2 straighten my hair or else its frizzy so that makes it flat. . . .so how can i have my hair straight and make it have some volume 2. i hate flat hair! i tryed blow drying it upside down but that just makes it more wavy so it needs more straightening which mean more flat! how can i get it straight and have volume at the smae time?? help me please!!

I have had an itchy scalp for a couple of weeks now and cannot find out why, normally my scalp isn't itchy. The hair oil that I'm currently using isn't helping, does anyone know of a hair oil that helps with this, for ethnic hair?

i have pretty thick hair and i have 2 straighten it or its frizzy and has little random waves but when i straightn it, it looses all its volume. how can my hair be straight but still have some volume and not look all flat and boring?? help me!! what can i do 2 make it volumy. i tryied blow drying it upside down but that makes it so i need 2 straightin it more and then its just flat again. help!!

I am asian with the typical black hair and eyebrows. However, I want to dye my hair but NOT my eyebrows. I've seen girls with their hair all different colors but with their eyebrows black and it looks funky. So.. should I just get some highlights and if so, what colors? I was thinking dark brown.. nothing too dramatic.. but not too black-ish.

Any suggestions?

I have very thin baby fine hair, and over the summer I was conditioning my whole head with Herbal Essences Conditioner, I never used to do that., I just used to do the ends. Well, in the fall starting in September, I went through a major shed for just over 3 months, and now my hair just seems so thin now. I don't know if it's from conditioning it, or the major shed? I'm just wondering when all of this new hair is going to start growing in? Or maybe from just conditioning it so much it made it alot thnnner?

I have dirty blonde to light brown hair.. I straighten my hair every day, and quite frankly, it's fried. I haven't dyed my hair in over six months and I want to go completely blonde. Every time I go to the salon, they tell me that I'd look better with highlights (I'm SURE to get me to spend more!!). I'm sick of highlights.. I want to go full-on Jessica Simpson blonde.


Does anyone know how I can do this at home, without frying my hair or looking obviously fake? I just want it to be a 'normal' blonde, not a fake bleach blonde color...and I really don't think I could afford any more split ends.. I'd like to use something that doesn't dry me out too bad!!


Thing is, I tried it before.. but at that time my hair was Auburn and it took me three or four times with super bleach to get the red out, and when I did, my hair was white and fried.. it's been a while since I bleached it, and it has repaired itself for the most part. I don't want to kill it again. But I want it blonde! HELP!

I have naturally dark brown hair, and this past summer, I've gotten alot of bleach blonde highlights. After a year of highlighting, it's almost completely bleach blonde, with my dark roots showing. How do I die my hair a light brown of some sort, when i have my died blonde hair, and my natural hair roots, a completely darker shade, showing? By the way, i was hoping for box color because proffessional maintenance is really pricey.

Could this be a nutritional thing?...I am careful about shampoo and conditioners for them ......any suggestions that may help my son would be appreciated. I've never seen dandruff on someone so young and we eat very healthy and drink plenty of water and take vitamins.

He has blonde, fine hair. Mom says no buzz cuts, but he looks like a hedgehog. The top and crown of his hair refuses to lay down. Stylists say let it grow and add hair weight before cutting, but as soon as we cut it, same problem all over. There has to be a solution somewhere. Please answer seriously and avoid the quick ball cap fix---HATE CAPS. But out of control hedgehog mohawk is not really working for us either,
