curl it on the ends, gives it a more bouncy look

Use Biolage Smoothing Shine Milk by Matrix, and a nice finishing spray with light-moderate hold.

Spray the Smotthing Milk evenly on damp hair (be careful--a little goes a loonnnggg way--too much will also result in weighing down your hair) and brush out any tangles before straightening as you usually do.

After straightening, part your hair as you wish. Take small sections of your hair at a time where you wish to see volume, and tease a little bit at the roots. Spray lightly with some gel or spray for hold. Continue all around for desired volume.

When you get the desired effects, use the finishing spray and spray evenly but lightly all around and once more while upside down. Touch up as needed.

my hair is just like yours...i was reading your question and thought of my hair! hehe i havent found a way to make it not look so flat but try this...get a fat curling iron and take about 2/3 of your hair at the bottom and curl it out and then curl the top under. if you use a fat curling iron the curls wont be like kinky curls, just soft pretty curls. i know you said you wanted your hair straight but this is the only way i can get my volume to show and i think it looks really pretty. all my friends tell me they like my hair better when i curl it so maybe you could expirement with that or something

It depends a lot on the face and neck of the girl, but my favorite is definately dark brown with good volume and loose curls. It sounds like you have great hair. I actually have thick, dark brown, curly hair too.

to keep it straight with volume...

use Redkin- Guts...

apply it to damp hair and blow dry it out... for best results blow dry it out with a thick round brush.

if you want to keep your curly hair but you want nicer curls and no frizz...

use some curl creme... bumble and bumble have a really good curl creme. it will curl up your hair a little more to make the curls more define and it wont leave your hair hard or wet looking... its leaves it looking really soft and natural.
