I have naturally dark brown hair, and this past summer, I've gotten alot of bleach blonde highlights. After a year of highlighting, it's almost completely bleach blonde, with my dark roots showing. How do I die my hair a light brown of some sort, when i have my died blonde hair, and my natural hair roots, a completely darker shade, showing? By the way, i was hoping for box color because proffessional maintenance is really pricey.

I'd say Miss D has answered as close as you can get at home, just make sure your light brown is a natural and not an ash, other wise you'll turn green instead of brown, you will still have a highlighted effect because of the dimension of your blonde highlights

All dark hair has red undertones so if you are going to try to darken it you MUST dye it red first, doesn't matter what kind of colour or dye the red is (except henna) then get the best quality brown that you can afford, one that covers grey and colour that over the top.
I usually do it every 2/3rd time before I go to get my highlights done to stop my hair going the way yours does and so I don't need to sit in the hairdressers for a whole day.

First, lighten your roots by getting a highlight touch up kit. Then, you can just dye your hair the light brown color that you want. It will go over the blonde really well, so you can pick out any light brown color that you like the best.

Definately get it performed. in case you do it your self, it will be a mixture of colours and by no ability all darkish brown. in case you get it performed, that is going to seem in basic terms high-quality! they have all sorts of formulation to bathe out previous shade, and then put in the recent. the outcome will be in basic terms as you became hoping for!! :) i'm guessing it will value between 60-one hundred and forty. Now, in case you wanted more effective highlights on right of that, which could be an more effective 60-one hundred and forty. yet some hair dressers will do lower priced rates in case you shade and spotlight. in basic terms call your hairdresser. they in many cases have good bargains. desire this enables!

i think your meant to buy a product which neutralises the highlights, otherwise the brown wont cover it very evenly, you'll still have lighter bits and it can go a horrible straw yellow colour where you had the blonde.........trust me, i know.....if you want my advice, spend the money just this once on a hairdresser, then carry on doing the home colours after, it'll be worth the cash!

you could go to the hair dresser and ask for low lights this will effectly make it look like you've had highlight in your hair and when your normal colour grows back it will be less nocticeable and you'll be able to go back to your natural colour without having to get it redyed all the time

i had this done and was well pleased with the results
