I'm saving money a lot right now, and I want to dye some thin strands of my hair different colors. It doesn't need to be permanent, or really good for my hair, even, and I just want it to show up well (I have long blond hair and lots of ink).

Anyone know what the average cost may be for this procedure? I am seriously considering it. I plucked all my brows out (not at one time this happened over a course of time) so now I draw them on everyday (pretty good if you ask me) but I am tired of doing this!!! It drives me insane. The worst part of my day is putting make-up on. Has anyone looked into this or have you had the procedure done? I heard the advertisement on the radio and I am SO tempted to have it done but I'm wondering what the cost is. Thanks!

I was told i need to bleach it in order for my hair to get that color. Is there ANY other way to lighten it without bleaching because i've heard bleaching damages your hair A LOT!

I'm an African American, with normal african american male hair (nappy) I was wondering if there is anyway I could straighten my hair, so I could spike it, gel it, and so it can get "wet" when I take a shower or get in a pool. Before anyone goes rantling off about how I should be proud of my hair, trust me I am, i've had every hairstyle done to my hair possible for an AA male, cornrows, short, afro, braids, curled it, waves. But I want to try something really diffrent, something extreme. Also, how much could this cost, and if I wanted to straighten my hair like a white males hair, would it have to be a daily routine, or could I go to sleep with it, and wake up with it the next morning even if it got dry. So please no innapropriate answers. I appriciate all of your guys taking time out to help me.

Thank you

10 pts to the best answer, and the one that actually is detalive, answers all of my questions and actually works when I try it!

I have blonde hair (used to be a very pretty blonde when I was little and now it is dishwater blonde, so I highlight it a bright blonde), but I have recently gone through some changes in my life and want my hair to reflect that. I have never had any hair color other than blonde, other than pink, magenta, marroon, or blue extensions. I talked to my hairdresser about it and she suggested doing my full head marroon with a few blonde highlights on top of it. But I am worried what happens if I really don't like it and want to go back to blonde. I have read that I should bleach it and then put blonde back over it, but this seems like it might be very damaging. Has anyone done this? Suggestions??? Thanks!

I want to get a temporary hair dye just to change my color for a small amount of time. The product usually says it washes out in blah to blah shampoos but is this really true? Does it completely go away or is some of the color still left in your hair? and does it make your hair less shiny after its washed out?

i'm getting a haircut, but i'm not quite sure what style i want.
now i have long hair but i'd like to get it really short.
does anyone know about some good websites or anything as inspiration?

for specialists (if you could give direct personal guidance):
i've got a bit more round face than average, i'm brunette, thick hair, big nose, no pronounced lines in my face.
i'm 17 (soon 18) and i don't want it to look too childish. or too much like a boy..

So my gf convinced me to grow my hair shaggy and I actually like it now that it is growing out (i'm about 3 mo. in). The problem is, I have always had a widow's peak (and maybe a tad bit of receding has made it worse). So right now i'm stuck w/ this thick tuft of longer hair in the center of my forehead that hangs a about an inch below the rest, and in my humble opinion looks plain rediculous, while the rest goes on looking bad-***.

My question is, is there something a stylist can do to even it out bit and still look normal, or do I just need to give it time and hopefully it will fill out more?

Personal experience and stylist advice is welcomed.
thanks

Back in June, I had a bad highlight job that basically ate off my bangs and FRIED my hair. She cut it up to my ears too. I cried and cried. I have fine thin hair by the way and am caucasion. My hair was naturally curly too. By October, my hair had grown down to my chin and was FRIZZY DRY BROKEN and YUCK!! Wouldn't hold any style, but it had at least grown. I went to a well-respected hair dresser (I checked around) then and she said she could do the chi straightener for chemically treated hair and not leave it on long and only do the length, not the bangs since they were still fried and short. She did such and it looked better but was still thin looking and broken all over. This was in October. Now, 3 months later, I have bangs, and it has grown to shoulder length, but the sides and around my crown are still broken and damaged. Everyone says it looks so much better than before, but I am so impatient and want it to hurry up and get back to good. WHAT CAN I DO????

i got highlights which will soon grow out and look kinda trashy.. so i think instead of re-touching because when i highlighted it, my mom did it so much that it seeped down to the inner layer of my hair so if i just retouch, ill have roots growing frome the inside layer of my hair..soo....ill just dye it with one of those over the counter ones you can get at like the supermarket with the nice conditioners..but i dont know wich color. im a natural dark brown.

yea..
