I am a licensed cosmetologist and I recommend Dr. Miracle products to some of my clients, it is an excellent line. Protein strengthens your hair: P-1000, Aphogee, etc. If your hair and scalp are dry use the protein treatment first then the conditioner. Olive Oil is okay, but sit under the dryer with a cap on to get the maximum benefits. Don't own a hooded dryer? Just put the cap on. Keep away from the heat; pressing combs, flat irons, blow dryers, etc. which dry your hair even more.

I believe olive oil or coconut oil is the best: http://beauty-tricks.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&Itemid=99999999&id=448

ummm...i've heard that carrots are good for your hair if you eat them, but i don't know if you should put oil in your hair if you're not sure what it will do.
