dry, dull hair has lots of split ends, looks dry, and lacks luster. lifeless, limp hair looks flat meaning you need volume.

Dry hair can be flat but it can also be frizzy hair. Dull hair is not shiny hair so usually when your hair is dry it is dull. Lifeless hair is usually oily and pretty much stuck to your head. Lifeless hair is thin and you cant really do anything with it. There are treatments for each of these problems but your right, you have to identify what your hair problem is first.

There could be various reasons why your hair isn't growing the most common is split ends, so in the long run it's better to trim your hair every couple of months. I had the same problem as i spent 3 years bleaching my hair too much and although it takes time, the only thing i found works for me was after you've washed and conditioned your hair, towel dry gently and put a pea sized ammount of normal conditioner in and don't wash it out, it may take a while to take effect but stick with it, it wont do any harm. I recommend Tresseme as well it's the best product on the market as it has no silicone in it.

Dull, lifeless, and limp all mean the same thing-there's no volume whatsoever. Dry hair means there's no moisture.

once your hair is damaged you cannot repair it, i would reccomend getting the ends trimmed so they feel healthier. Stay away from hairdryers and straighteners as these are the things that destroy hair the most. Use coconut oil on hair when it is wet or dry, it is very moisturising and cheap. I've started using dove damage therapy and that is for people with damaged hair so i recommend that too. as your hair is damaged the ends might be breaking off at the same rate as your hair is growing, maybe that is why it doesn't seem to grow longer.
