I have blonde hair (used to be a very pretty blonde when I was little and now it is dishwater blonde, so I highlight it a bright blonde), but I have recently gone through some changes in my life and want my hair to reflect that. I have never had any hair color other than blonde, other than pink, magenta, marroon, or blue extensions. I talked to my hairdresser about it and she suggested doing my full head marroon with a few blonde highlights on top of it. But I am worried what happens if I really don't like it and want to go back to blonde. I have read that I should bleach it and then put blonde back over it, but this seems like it might be very damaging. Has anyone done this? Suggestions??? Thanks!

don't dye ur hair too much. i read a beauty mag that ur only supposed to dye ur hair 2ce a year. too many chemicals is bad. if u have been blonde ur whole life, i suggest going darker. I prefer maybe a chestnut brown with gold highlights or ur idea would work the maroon with blonde highlights. it's a new year, it's a new u...so why not? :) experiment

If your ready for a change-go for it. Just let your stylist do it, it has to be properly filled and colored otherwise you will end up orangy or even pink and blotchy. Red is the hardest color to maintain and does fade easily, but once you've been doing it for a while it will stick. Red has the largest color molecule so it fades, but it is the hardest to remove too. So if you didn't like it you would have to have it bleached out and recolored. If you leave this to your stylist to do it should be fine. Especially cuz you said that you've only had it a few colors in your life, so you don't do it that much. Just remember if this does happen that you use good products (from the salon) and leave all the coloring up to the pros too

I see no problem with this but I would suggest ways to do it safely. If you change your mind, there are ways to make sure you CAN change your mind.

You can do what you're looking for with Burgundy Henna. I'd reccommend Rainbow Henna first, and Light Mountain Natural second. You'll get a nice deep color, and it'll condition your hair and make it very naturally healthy. It also feels great. You mix the herbs with hot water, and it's nice and warm on your scalp. Also, while it lasts a long time, it WILL eventually fade out, slowly, so you won't get that unpleasant skunk stripe nearly as bad as you would if you got a conventional dyejob. Warning- henna is not for you if you perm your hair.

If you're looking for something even brighter, why not go for Manic Panic? It comes in a lot of colors- some louder than others, and to my dismay, it only lasts about a month. (gel lasts longer than creme.) Have a website. It's VERY easy to do streaks with this product, and you can do a good job of it yourself at home.

If your a:

male with dark eyes:
-DON'T do it. But if you want to change your haircolor, go for light brown with blonde highlights.

male with light eyes:
-DO it, or if you have tan or light skin, dye your hair jet black or dark brown. it will put more emphasis on your eyes.

female with dark eyes-
-...It's up to you, but I suggest you don't do it. Everyone wants to be blonde, and if you dye it 'marroon' you may not be able to get the blonde color back. But if you do get it back, it'll cost alot of money, and will be SEVERLY damaging. So, I suggest you stick with what you got.

female with light eyes:
-DO it! No matter what color you dye your hair, your eyes will reflect off it! And if you have light skin: Lucky you! you can dye your hair WHATEVER color you want, and still look hot. But be careful, you may not be able to get the color back!

Good Luck!
PS
Don't get highlights 'on top' it looks tacky, and it's too high maintenance.

I have had my hair about every natural color possible so I say go for it. I have always figured, it is just hair. If you really don't like it wait a few weeks then change it.

L'Oreal makes a hair coloring product stated as "shade Pulse." i think of they have the two rainbow-like colours as nicely as ordinary colorings like brown, blond. I propose giving that a attempt. It washes out interior six to eight cases of washing your hair.

Acutlly no. I'm not into dying hair in fact i like natural better (until the gray comes in )so i'd dump i'll those chemicals down the drain. Back to the questoin, It sounds SUPER ugly and i mean UGLY. so i'd have to say no.

You are looking at a nightmarish color if you do...Forget the maroon, and just get some foils put in by a professional..Your going to have more problems down the road when putting maroon over blonde. And if you have problems with your life dont take it out on your hair, go to a psycologist...
