i'm getting a haircut, but i'm not quite sure what style i want.
now i have long hair but i'd like to get it really short.
does anyone know about some good websites or anything as inspiration?

for specialists (if you could give direct personal guidance):
i've got a bit more round face than average, i'm brunette, thick hair, big nose, no pronounced lines in my face.
i'm 17 (soon 18) and i don't want it to look too childish. or too much like a boy..

I don't think you should cut your hair short. I have thick blond hair, and i cutit a couple years ago so i could spike it, or clip my cute little bangs in the front....... NOT the best choice i ever made. i ended up having to cut my hair every three weeks 'cause it was too thick! it was so annoying, so maybe asleek chin-lenght hair would work netter for you.

well you could just go to a barber and ask them what you think.... i did this a couple of years ago and what i did was has the barber cut small lengths at a time, so i could decide where to stop instead of getting it cut too short and hating it. it took a little longer, but the results were great. good luck!!

You could layer the hair around your face or layer it all the way around when you cut it up to shoulder length. By layering it all the way around it will also help to thin your hair out which will give it more volume... just an idea.

maybe like an almost shoulder length hair with a flip out at the ends and light brown or copper highlights.
