Hair - September 2006

I hate my hair. It's typical Asian, which means it's really freakin' coarse. Right now it's long, so it can either be combed neatly for work, flipped around to have an emo/a-line for clubbing/going out. Before it was long, I had a short Dave Gahan from Depeche Mode haircut.

I hate having my hair long enough where it falls in my eyes. Maybe I'm just getting practical as I get near 30, but when it's not styled, it makes it hard to see, especially when I drive.

I don't want Standard Asian Guy hair -- I'm looking for something that walks the line behind practical/easy to manage and indie cool. Suggestions?

which hairspray works best, that is not sticky??or, what can i do, i curl my hair, and hate tressemme, it makes your hair all sticky, i want hair that you can run your fingers through, but is still curly, cause my hair is sooo soft, and i dont want to put junk in it. and i don't want it going flat.

I have very straight hair and whenever i curl it, i have to use large amounts of hair spray to hold it, but then its crispy. How do I have good curls, but still touchable hair?

It is really beginning to worry me. I never used to lose that much hair at all and I have always had really long thick hair. This summer I got my hair cut and layered with a razor and now I have noticed it falls out more.

I have thin hair and no volume,oily scalp.I have used many kind of shampoos but nothing worked.Now I started to use johnson`s baby shampoo and I see a difference,my hair is much volume and grow very fast.But I`m affraid that baby shampoo can close the pores of hair and makes hair fall.Is it true?What to do?To use or not?Can I have healthy hair if I use it?

I get my hair highlighted at the hairdresser - it costs a fortune. I wondered if anyone has tried any of the highlight kits advertised - they use a base colour and then you had the highlights with a wand. Don't want to end up looking ginger!!

I have naturally straight hair but I have tons of it and its very thick and it can get a little pouffy. Some like to call it voluminous, but i prefer the sleek and super straight look. Ever since i got a haircut with a lot of layers in it, i have been straightening my hair with a ceramic flat iron almost everyday. It looks really bad if i don't, but it takes too much time. My hairdresser told me that i would be a good candidate for it since i have pretty healthy hair and it does not have any dye in it. I'm hesistant to go through with it cuz i don't want to damage my hair and have it fall out.
Has anyone had this done? Tell me about your experiences

Please don't say any of the cheap brands because I've used almost all of them and they're worthless on my hair. I need to know if brands like Redken or Matrix are really as good as they say they are. I have wavy hair, frequently flatironed, that is dry and frizzy.

How should I do my hair? My hair is dark brown and a little below shoulder length, wavy, with layers and sideswept bangs. My face is oval shaped. i'm a goth and i dye my hair black every once and a while. the reason i ask is cuz i hear that dyeing your hair too much can cause cancer. yes i know you can get cancer from anything.
