Would it look good if I dyed my ponytail black and left the rest of my hair brown??

Question

my hair is growing out and I want to dye it but not all of it just my ponytail and I want it jet black, what do you think? will it look good??

I remember a girl I went to high school with who had long blonde hair. She dipped the ends of her hair in the back in black dye and it looked great on her. However, it did kind of help that she was already a knockout.

Perhaps you should take a photo of yourself and retouch it in photoshop to previsualize what your black ponytail would look like before taking such a drastic step in altering your appearance.

Chances are, this is probably a bad idea. In the other hand, if you are already a drop dead beauty, it may be the greatest idea ever conceived by a human being.

The truth probably lies somewhere in the middle, and probably closer to the bad side of the idea spectrum. It's too bad these questions can't include a picture of you as you are now, so people could just paint your ponytail black themselves and post those photos back as their response.

it will look very odd when you have your hair down I think. I think it would look good if you dyed the tips black though... the same thing you want to do but with less of your hair - just the ends not the whole lot of hair that goes up in your ponytail as this would make it uneven when it isn't put up.

But if this is what you really want to do then ignore what everyone else things and just do it! It's your hair and I think it's much cooler to do what you want rather than let other people dictate your style for you. This is just my advise.

I think it would look strange, especially if you don't wear your hair in a ponytail. If you really want to dye part but not all of your hair, I would strongly recommend highlights, but only if the black you want isn't too.... black. Or you might want to dye only your tips black. Anyway, I hope you make a good choice. =)

By dying your hair on half, will look like you have dye your hair before and is going away little by little. I wanted some color on my hair, so at the hair saloon they suggested to light up my own hair color that look like tips. They look great and last longer than tips itself or dying all your hair. If you wanted darker, then go full hair with darker brown going to black instead jet black.
