I have naturally straight hair but I have tons of it and its very thick and it can get a little pouffy. Some like to call it voluminous, but i prefer the sleek and super straight look. Ever since i got a haircut with a lot of layers in it, i have been straightening my hair with a ceramic flat iron almost everyday. It looks really bad if i don't, but it takes too much time. My hairdresser told me that i would be a good candidate for it since i have pretty healthy hair and it does not have any dye in it. I'm hesistant to go through with it cuz i don't want to damage my hair and have it fall out.
Has anyone had this done? Tell me about your experiences

Thanks!

I have the same type of hair you do and mine is also very course. I had the Japanese hair straightening done and believe me, it works. I can just wash my hair and go or if you want to blow dry it, that's fine. It will still be straight. It last between 4-8 months depending on how fast your hair grows. The only problem is that it takes 4 hours to get it done specially if you have thick hair. They starighten your hair with a ceramic flat iron, then put the chemicals on your hair. Then you wait some time, then they wash your hair. Afterwards, they put another type of chemical on your hair. Wait a little bit more and then they wash it again. Afterwards, the stylist just blow drys your hair. This process can cost between $150-500 depending on where you live.

Yes. Have you seen the Japanese girls silky straight hair? On all magazines I have read it happens to be the healthiest. Causes less damage. I have had it done and I looked super good.
