Hair - September 2006

I bought one of those Conair hot combs that can be used to curl or straighten hair. In the book it says to straight natural waves, pull hair taunt and go over until they go away. My hair, however, is too short to pull taunt while I pass the hot comb through it.

I tried it right away when I got it, had absolutely no effect. Im going to go take a shower and try it after that, but I have a few questions...

1) Do I let my hair dry completely before using it? Or does the heat work best while wet or damp?
2) Should I use the straightener AFTER I put hair gel in? I figure once I straighten it, I cant glob hair gel in and mess it up or itll go wavy again, so I donno what to do about that.
3) Do you think this will work? Lol.. be honest. Im having my doubts already.

My hair is dyed brown, which is darker than its natural color. Its thick and course and dry, for about 6 hours after i wash it. (i wash my hair at night and sleep with it wet.) but by the middle of the school day, its all oily at the top and gross looking. Does anyone know any shampoo and conditioner that can help my hair look better.

(Washing my hair in the morning doesnt help the oil)

I have sholder length hair and sort puffy if I don't straighten it....It would help if the hair style didn't call for me to straighten it I only have so much time in the morning....

My hair is dry and thick.I wash and conditon my hair. Then Iblow dry it. I was wondering do you have somthing to help my hair without me using products that break off my air and dry it out. I am mixed with African America and Asian and my hair is really tough.

I been having a big hair problem for the fast few months. I have always had very dry volumeless lusterless hair, but recently the hair became brittle and breaking apart when I am combing. I dont use heating irons at all.

I have tried using zero frizz hair serums and tried different conditioners to no use. Can anyone recommend products that would help me in this situation?

I like keeping it a relatively short length, you know like finger width when they cut it or whatever. I used to just not give a ****, have my hair be cleancut and all for a while and then it would get shaggy and nasty. So how often would you recommend getting a haircut for a guy?

And usually I go to a 'mens barbershop', its kind of spendy, like $40 with tip but I don't mind because the ladies there do a really good job. But if I'm gonna start getting a haircut more often, I can't be shelling out THAT much cash. So where's the best place to get a haircut, like a regular barbershop, a chain store (Supercuts, great clips)? My only issue is I need to be able to communicate to the person what I want, I used to go to supercuts or whatever and always get stuck with foreign girls that hardly know what I'm telling them.

Hi! Anyone have any cute hairstyles? I have straight shoulder-length hair. Usually I leave it down, put it up in a low or high ponytail, or a half ponytail. Ocasionally, I will curl my hair.
