my girlfriend Mel wants me to get light blonde highlights in my medium blonde hair. Her mom is a hairstylist and said that she would be glad to highlight my hair. Should i do it? Girls do you like you bf's to have highlights? Wil they look good?

It depends - is she just learning how to color hair or has she been doing this for years? Is she working for a Mario Triccoci or a small business salon or on her own? You want to make sure that the styles she produces are modern and fit who you are. You can have a great stylist who is stuck on doing things like they did in the 80s or early 90s and you want now in your hairstyle- not 10 years ago. It doesn't sound like a huge risk since you're already medium blonde and she's not going to cut and style - the light blonde highlights probably won't be totally dramatic. I would ask if she could do a temporary highlight job first to make sure you really want what she can do before letting her do anything permanent. In the end it's more important that you like it than your girl. But impressing her is a good thing to do too. So, I'd give the temporary highlights a shot.

I'm going to be honest with you, Today it's your hair and tomorrow it will be something else, Next week Mel will ask you to get a nose job...Be careful with the amount of control you give Mel. Any way sounds as if your color is already sexy,beside all that you'll get to many looks from the opposite SEX you know what I mean. Hey, rent the movie Shape of Things and then decide...

I just highlighted a 17 yr old guys hair last nite at work, but only cuz HE wanted it done, I did it very subtle not bleached out, and it looked really good, he has fine hair and it helped give him more body to style it the way he likes

My son has medium blond hair and he had highlights put in and it looked very nice on him, and the girls did like it. so go for it, it will grow out.

Sean, ask her to do subtle highlights if you decide to do it, then if you want you can have her lighten them even more later. When overdone, it makes a guy look cheap/classless. Do they have an avatar with highlights? lol. good luck.

get the highlights...but I would actually get low lights this time of year...if its cold this time of year where you live...low lights would give a darker color to your hair and your natural hair color would look high lighted....but go for the high lights you will look like you have an idea about fashion, but won't look like a metro either...go for it!!! i think all boys should do it

It depends on how high-maintenance you are. My boyfriend colors his hair a lot...but he is punk. My brother is a surfer and he put highlights in his...I loved it!! It depends on whether or not you are confident with it. If you don't want to, don't.

OKAY...my friend got highlights and he looked really funny. I honestly don't think it looks good on a guy....just remember "Ryan Seacrest"....didn't he look funny and people were asking if he was gay. My friend really looked funny and he paid tons of money for it....my advice to you is DON'T!

i think if it's VERY subtle and if her mom knows what she's doing it'll be ok. especially since u already have medium blond hair...it shouldnt' be that dramatic.
