My hair was jet black. It has lightened a little but not much.
What can I do to lighten it gradually, at one time.

Sun In has a tendency to make darker hair turn kind of orange...at least that was my experience. Ethnic hair takes special care and I don't think I'd want to attempt coloring it on your own.

If you have a Sally Beauty Supply near you, go there and ask the tech for help. They can direct you to the right products.

Um Sun-In. I don't even now White chicks that use that product anymore. I think you already know the answer to this question. See a Pro before you end up looking like Homer Simpson with fried hair.

Go to a salon and have a professional lighten it for you. It will be expensive but it will be worth it because if you try any other at-home products you will end up damaging your hair and/or turning it orange!

Good luck!

Do not use Sun-in!!!! Worst product ever!

Go to a salon and have a professional do the color change. You could damage your hair like my sister did with it, and now nearly a year later her hair is almost normal.

SUN IN IS THE WORSE THING TO PUT ON YOUR HAIR . WHATEVER YOU DO NOT GET A RELAXER . THE CHEMICAL REACTION WITH SUN IN AND ANY OTHER CHEMICAL IS HORRIBLE . I KNOW A GIRL WHO CAME INTO THE SHOP OF MINE AND DID THE SUN IN THING THEN GOT AA RELAXER ELSEWHERE AND HER HAIR ACTUALLY MELTED OFF .BLACK ETHNIC HAIR NEEDS NO LESS THAN 30 VOLUME BLEACH TO LIFT . GET A PRO TO DO IT ... GOOD LUCK
