Beauty & Style - 22 August 2007

Hi I'm 13 and a little overweight. At high school I have been called fat. I want to find a sensible diet which makes me lose weight healthly but is affordable. I walk around to get to classes and during lunch and recess. but that is really the only exercise I get. When I get home after school I have homework and the same on weekends.

I only wear department store foundation/powder. I have oily skin with occasional breakouts. I want something that is lightweight. I currently use Prescriptives powder and its a little flat.

I love chemises, lacy tops, little nightgowns with the lacy cleavage things but none offer support or look right! I mean, they look alright but not great like they're supposed to... for example. I have long (slightly past shoulder length) curly brown hair. Without "product" the curl goes to just wavy, but with the help of Aveda Be Curly I get long, loose, ringlets that my Mom calls "bolongna curls".

Anyway, I want to wear my hair down and curly for my wedding, probably with no veil, but possibly either with a tiara or flowers.

Does anyone know of a website that has pics of different curly wedding hairstyles? I'm going to hair salons to "audition" hairdressers and I'd like to have some ideas to show them...

Are girls prettier at 18 than at age 24? Some people said so. Are they right? I am 23 (I am going to turn 24 in 2 weeks) and I think my looks are going downhill already. Since a month ago I notice the elastic of my skin is getting looser and the muscles of my arms and legs are looser too. In other words- my body isn't as firm anymore as it was when I was 17-19. Terrible! Does everybody go downhill like this at this age?

I think I was at my physical peak from age 17-21. Now I'm going downhill.

I’ve been dyeing my hair black for about 4 years. I’m bored of it and I want a change. The problem is I can’t let it grow out cause I have waist length hair and want to lose as little length as I can get away with. I’m afraid of bleaching it out cause because my hair is so dark it will undoubtedly damage it, maybe beyond repair. I was thinking of going red so I’ll have to somehow get it really light…can anyone suggest the least harmful way to go from black to red???

I've heard that 60% to the shop owner and 40% to the tattooer because the owner pays rent , owns the sterilizer, flash, etc. But is that just to start out? And Should the artist be paid more? My main question is a little more complicated ...
What about the successful tattoo artists that are booked up for months for portraits or other detailed expensive tattoos?
Now lets just say a successful tattoo artist works 5 days a week and makes $400 a tattoo. Thats $2,000 a week and $8,000 a month. (Bear with me here) Ok, so the shop owner still gets 60%? That would be $4,800 to the shop owner every 4 weeks and $62,400 a year! That would well exceed the normal expenses of an artist.

LONG Story short, what would a very successful tattoo artist pay the shop owner? How would it work out so that the artist is paid fairly?
