Thats about four inches. How do I do it? Other than the usual hot water wash? Any advice?? Thanks guys!!!

It's made of 80% nylon and 20% spandex

Since most swimwear is a lycra or cotton lycra blend, I don't think the hot water would work, except that it could weaken the fabric making it seem larger (looser), not smaller, by ruining the "elastic" part of the fabric. If you can sew, it would be the better option, or just to buy a better fitting peice of swinwear.

If it's not nearly 100% cotton, it won't shrink. It is most likely a polyester material, and poly doesn't shrink. Your better off going to a seamstress/Tailor (most dry cleaners even have one) and having it taken in where needed.

Shrink it in the dryer. Dry it a few times, that's how I shrunk one of my bathing suit tops.

I don't think so. Usually swimsuits expand in water anyways, so other than altering it, you're stuck.
